Things could get very ugly for Agholor with the fanbase if he struggles early. I remember when Amendola was signed to a big money deal here and everyone thought he would be more than he was. He ended up settling in and finding a role (and taking plenty of pay cuts) but it was one of those things where just because you paid a guy to be "the guy" doesn't necessarily mean he will be anything other than what he always was. We at least had the luxury of Edelman stepping up and filling that role that everyone assumed Amendola would take. I don’t think Agholor has that luxury based on the rest of the guys in the wide receiver room.

That’s a whole 95 pounds that he’s squatting. Damn, Bill. Save some gains for the rest of us.
Beat me to it. I figured Bill for a couple plates for sure.

The long TD drop is coming. My hope is he can be the deep threat he was last year - force defenses to back up their safeties so Meyers & the TEs can operate.

Hopefully he gets off to a good start.

Hmm, wish we'd see this show up more than once or twice a season.

Pretty much. He’s done this stuff in camp before. Then the games actually count and he has 1 catch for 14 yards. With the slew of TE injuries, though, he has a great chance of making the roster. At least IMO.

He's probably seeing some extended action with so few tight ends participating today. My guess is some of those sit down routes would be Henry's and possibly Smith's if our preferred offense is out there.

Starting to think he's just got a curse on his hands that only activates in the greater Philadelphia area.
I believe I read something yesterday to the effect, that Agholor struggles with over the shoulder type throws, but he is apparently “money” when he’s able to come back to the ball and catch it.

Just once, I'd appreciate the reporters making evaluations based on the team versus just individuals. The Patriots historically are not built solely on the premiere athletes - and the drill excerpts the media highlights are often "one on one" or other athletically-skewed observations.

Things like how is the OL gelling - are they able to pass off rushers, pull effectively, etc? How about the DL - are they stunting/moving at all or is it all just straight one-on-one rushes? How are they holding the point of attack? Are they able to effectively two-gap allowing the LBs to flow to the ball freely without having an OL in their face?

How about zone versus man coverage types and their relatively fluidity across the UNIT not just the individual? Are they passing off pass catchers as they cross to limit gains? Sealing zone gaps?

How are they rallying to the ball? Keeping the play in front of them?

Ultimately, this remains a team game, but all we get is "so and so" did this or that. Some of us (probably not many which answers my question) understand that the nuance behind the surface observation is likely the huge difference between how well or poorly this Patriot team may do this year.

I'm likely a minority and asking too much however.
