jennings seems to be absent a lot i feel like, i hope he still makes the team and can contribute

Tough because he's in a crowded EDGE group: Judon, Van Noy, Uche, Wino, Perkins. So unless he gets back soon and/or earns some reps at ILB, he's in a tough spot.

I agree, i think i read at one report that he is getting some reps at ILB which makes sense esp after the McMillan injury. He provides versality as well. Personally i think he might be better at the Edge position in our system.

Yup, after Hightower you have to assume Bentley is the guy at ILB, but if they're keeping a third guy in that role it's going to have be a hybrid/convert of some kind. But if no one stands out, I think they just roll with High/Bentley and rotate Van Noy and Uche inside for a handful of snaps as needed. I agree Jennings best position is edge, all other things being equal.

EDIT: There's also Terez Hall, but at this point he seems destined for the PUP to start the year unless something shifts on him pretty soon.

Now even Fumagalli is out. This tight end injury bug is beyond absurd.

I would like to see Uche at the ILB position in specific situations. I think his rare athletic needs to be on the field at any down. It's too much value to just play on third downs. I agree with the ILB rotation. Bentley looks better according to resources so he should have a safe spot if no one else excels there, at least for an early down run stopper this is fine

Edit: i did not read your Hall response before i answered. Hall actually made me more confident than Bentley last year due to his better athleticism. But this is an area where bentley supposed to improved so i think it's tough for hall. Maybe PS if he is healthy

Trade for Ertz during practice!
I saw from some media notes about yesterday's practice that Bill was talking to Ertz, didn't mention him talking to any other players on the Eagles so it might be a similar situation to when he sweet talked Hunter Henry after last year's Chargers game.

I am starting to think he has a pretty good chance to get cut. He couldn't get on the field much last year with no depth and now that we have plenty of linebackers he has been banged up all summer.

As far as I can tell, Hall is still on either the PUP or NFI (not sure which) so he could start the season there and provide reinforcements later in the season. That said, I thought he sucked last year. He was faster than Bentley which is probably what got people excited but he still couldn't cover the pass or the run.

Yeah, i mean the front 6 is crowded for sure. But i think exactly bc of his injuries and last season hard to evaluate with covid and lack of vet such as HT he deserves another year imo..

Yeah Coverage was a big issue for both guys. Both don't have much experience though so i guess there can be still a learning curve. My impression was he did a better job than bentley but could be wrong easily. the ceiling is probably an situational role player with maybe some ST roles as well idk..

Yeah, I mean if you're comparing Hall with Bentley there's not really going to be a correct answer unfortunately. I wish we had addressed the position more substantially than just taking a cheap flier on McMillian, but it might just be the case that the team/league is moving in the direction of keeping less of this type of player and having edge players and safeties fill certain roles a dedicated ILB used to.
