I kinda liked JHC during the 2017 draft process as a SS/LB hybrid, a poor man's (at the time) version of ObiWon...He's a full-time OLB now...Got into some trouble before the draft that really damaged his stock...Opted-out of 2020 and played in only 9 games in 2019...If healthy & motivated, he's a better depth piece than any of Bentley, King, Berry, Bower, Bledsoe & Colbert.

Marlon Williams just doesn't have the required athleticism to compete at this level.

This is weird…players have no leverage to hold out and can’t talk directly to teams, so they’ll now need to wrote mail-order bride letters begging to be traded for.

It's an interesting ploy, because you have to think in this case (and in Harry's), that both their teams and everyone else in the league already knows the player wants out. There have probably already been phone calls made and early offers tossed about. So the only thing this kind of statement does is remove leverage from the Dolphins in the interest of generating some public sympathy.

It's nobody's fault but Howard's he didn't understand what he was signing (his words).

Two of the top UFA CBs remaining, Steven Nelson & Brian Poole, have both signed now...elsewhere, of course (Fecals & Saints).

Thanks for adding that extra layer of insurance at the position, Bill.

If he's good at Lacrosse and making decent money, probably a bad move...I doubt he makes an NFL roster.
Is it possible to "make good money" in lacrosse? His signing bonus and checks even just for NFL preseason games would probably blow lacrosse income out of the water

That's his agent's fault. Not everyone can be well versed in contract language, that's why you hire agents to handle that for you

Didn't Bill Russell famously have a clause in his contract that if Wilt Chamberlain got a new contract, Bill's would be revised to pay him $1 more than Wilt?

Sounds like Howard wanted a clause in his contract that if any teammate got a new contract, his would be revised to pay him more than that guy.

Problem is, he's no Bill Russell. He's not even a nano-Bill Russell.

No idea honestly, wouldn't be surprised if you are right.

Not sure about a clause but Russ did have a contract which paid him $1 more than Wilt. Actually Red is the one who insisted on it as it was a psychological game he played with the Sixers GM/Owner Irv Kosloff.

You reward players for scoring. I reward players for championships.
