Words on things I watched, read & heard

Not a legit one.
LT was arguably the best defensive player ever.
But his impact on the outcome of a game is not close to Brady or Brown. Those are generally the only 2 in the conversation as greatest player all-time. With good reason.
You need to ask Joe Montana about his opinion on LT's impact on the outcome of a game

Fyi, NFL list from 2010. Obviously Brady moves up since then and Manning moves down. Favre also did not age well since retirement.

Troy Aikman laughably high (he didn’t even make the top 20 nominees at QB for the NFL100 team.)

LaDainian Tomlinson over Randy Moss

For recent players, I think Gronkowski, Watt, and Donald belong here. Maybe Joe Thomas, AB, and Revis too. Sapp is a snub, maybe due to some PR comsiderations at the time.

This brings up a very interesting question, when I first heard about the concept I assumed QBs would go off the board one thru six. Obviously Brady has to go one and anyone who doesn’t take him is insane but assume you had the 2nd pick? There are some really good non QB contenders that I would strongly consider, the real LT being the image I can’t get out of my head. He would give you so much flexibility in fronts and schemes and the best way to throw those QBs off their game? Hit them in the mouth with a bunch of crazed dogs

I don’t think it’s insane to pick someone else over Brady at #1. The quarterback depth is outstanding, and every team will likely get a top-10 all time QB even if they hold out awhile.

Other positions there’s a big drop off. I don’t think anyone else is in LT’s class; other players arguably without peers are Munoz and Hannah. Maybe Gronkowski too.

Agreed there are positions where the drop off is huge and a good strategy is to get the best early. For me though I come back to winning and the QB is the most important position for doing that. I would say the drop off from Brady to anyone else is just as big as any other position. At this point he has almost lapped every other QB and I just can’t bet on anyone else when I have to have it. If I have the first pick I am running to the podium doing backflips cuz game over guys

Edit: also wanted to add Brady is the only QB I think is era or team concept proof. He is tough and dependable. He has played an I formation play action offense and excelled, a 2 TE up tempo offense and excelled, shotgun 4 wide bombs away and excelled, he has literally ran every kind of offense you can draw up and been excellent. Peyton on the other hand you better be drafting 3 excellent WRs and a duel threat RB cuz that’s the only offense he has ever run and while no slouch himself in the toughness department I do wonder how he would fare when defenses were allowed to rip your head off.

@BaconGrundleCandy thoughts on the new proposed CFP format?
Idk I think i like it?

Big boys will still dominate but it gives us the potential for more parity. Even if it's a bit manufactured. It'll be fun seeing some smaller schools compete for 10 mins until it's 35-7 halftime and showcase more prospects. It's good for kids I suppose.

I don't mind a little change but we'll see how it plays out.

From a personal perspective, the only thing I don’t like about it is that it takes away some of the excitement from Florida/Georgia every year. Aside from that, it’ll be interesting to see the UCFs and the Coastal Carolinas of the world compete.

It'll definitely be fun at first imo but if the small schools flame out year after year it could get old. Don't think we need to see Western Michigan as a champ but we need some drama to make it work. I'd love to see it tbh just bc there's no parity in the sport but we'll see.

I think the rivalry games, regional wars will still be great but yea there is potential there for a little less excitement I suppose.

Not a bad list...Before even looking at it, I was thinking Munoz & Hannah as my top OT/OG, Deacon Jones/Joe Greene at DE/DT, Butkus at MLB, Lawrence Taylor at OLB, **** Lane & Mike Haynes at CB, and Ronnie Lott as one of my Safeties...

Brady, Jim Brown, Gronkowski, Rice & Don Hutson were no-brainers for me & I ass-ume everyone else for top QB, RB, TE & WRs respectively.

Favre & Horse-Mouth Elway are a bit too high IMO, and the Five-Head is way, Way, WAY Too ****ing High...Brees & Rogers are BOTH >>>>>> him now, and I would choose ALL 3 of Otto-matic Graham, Slingin' Sammy Baugh, and Bart Starr ahead of him too...

RLKAG, possibly two, so he was never then, is not now, and Never Will Be under consideration.

And a special tip o' the scally to Concrete Charlie, Chuck Bednarik, one of if not The best two-way, 60-minute players in league history.

How is Andre Tippett not on that list?

Customer’s child faintly brushes against Henry’s jersey….it’ll be off the rack indefinitely..
