2021 NFL Free Agency/Trade News & Discussion: April Edition

I liked Clay during the 2011 draft process; he was athletic & versatile, experienced in the running, blocking & receiving games, and durable...I preferred him to the bigger, but plodding & one-dimentional Lee Smith at 159...I think he could've helped us over the years...
Agreed. Very versatile chess piece. He’s one of those dudes that was always injured, but managed to fight through them and play. Definitely could’ve used him.

Patten was pretty darn fast. Supposedly he's run a 4.27 40 (Bendetson: Saints alive, Patten marches on), but that for sure has to be hand timed. At one point he had the Pats WR 20yd sprint record (from ctpatsfann77's post of a DougKyed tweet of BumTheorist - note that Antwan Harris was faster).

Loved his game against Indy where he had a TD throw, catch, and run.

Edit: The catch from the Triple Play game:

Patten wasn't a burner. Not in the Odell Beckham, Johnathan Ross, Tyreek Hill mold. One of the things that was mentioned about Branch, Brown, and Patten is that they were so similar in their abilities that they were interchangeable.

And I wasn't taking a shot at Patten. I was taking a shot at the ludicrous idea that the Patriots need a "BURNER" to be able to compete for the SB. Which is factually false since they've never had a true "BURNER" as a primary receiver on any of their Championship teams.

You mean Smith whom they tried to get onto the PS, but has had a nice long career as a blocking TE in the league? It's always amazing how you re-write history to fill your BS

Somebody from their group needs to give Calvin Ridley some help, especially on the outside...Otherwise they might as well trade Ryan too...
Exactly. Apparently they like that kid Gage, but we’ll see how he pans out.

Gage put up over 775 yards last year filling in for Jones and as their #3 receiver. They've also added Pitts and Tajae Sharpe. As well as having a kid by the name of Zaccheus who played decently last year.

They have a very dynamic group of receivers and tight ends now.

Moses will start right away there and he wouldn't do that here; so I understand...However, couldn't Billy & the New Minions do better than RJ ****ing Prince? The dude ****ing sucks; he's not even a JAG, he's a never-was...Look at this ****ing slob:

Ernie! Ernie! Come back!
Y'ever think that at this point, they're basically filling slots for camp?

Their OL is going to be the starting 5+ Karras + 2 of Cajuste, Sherman, Herron, et al. What did the Jets pay for Moses, whose last contract was almost 8million AAV?

Really wish they would have thrown a deal at Ja’waun James and stashed him for next year when both our tackles are free agents.

I would rather they fill slots for camp with people who might actually have a legit chance to be OL #7...As you said, we have the starters + Karras, with Question Mark & the Mysterians as the backup band; and we'll all be crying 96 tears if just two of the top six are lost for any significant time.

Wynn will not be a free agent next year. He’ll be playing in the 5th year of his rookie contract.
