NFL's Coaches rankings

A few years ago, in a playoff game against the ravens, bb used funky offensive formations to perfection and that helped us get a win when we were down by two touchdowns.

The opposing head coachharbaugh (currently ranked 4th) was schooled. It was so ugly that in an interview after the game Brady suggested harbaugh read the rule book!

granted bb stole that from saban, but bb kept it in his back pocket until the perfect opportunity to use it.

if I remember correctly, there have been three or four times the league had to make rule changes because bb outsmarted everybody!

how many other coaches can say they caused rule changes?

bb is not only the best, but the number two coach is 8 floors below bb’s penthouse view!

That dude who started Apple didn't invent the PC. He got it from Xerox who didn't know what to do with it.

That's actually very common and smart because part of genius is dispensing with the "not invented here" mindset.

The coach didn't cost the Packers the game.

Yeah

Leaving Tampa's fastest receiver one on one with a CB stiff at mid field with 3 seconds left and playing a RB who fumbled in 1H and then on the first drive 2H (on the 8 yard line) only cost 14 points.

Ashley

Looks like you got caught in a "Dumb and Dumber" sequel.

I try to be respectful of everyone's opinion and I know when it comes to the Patriots, I am very passionate. With certain posters now being fans of other teams on here(specifically the Bucs), I get that they are being passionate about their new team, but I'm not going to sit and let them minimize the accomplishments of our coach(the Goat) or what we were able to accomplish as a team over the past 20 years.
All I was doing was bringing up two horrible coached games last year in the playoffs. They both took criticism after the game and rightfully so.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

The notion that people can't follow more than one team, for any reason, is ridiculous. And "All you did" was to be wrong about the Packers coach costing his team the NFCCG, and then take a ridiculous shot at me when I pointed that out.

I've been posting here since 2006, and was lurking before that. Your join date is 2014, meaning I've been here posting as a Patriots fan for more than twice as long as you have. So let's not have you trying to play that untrue "Bucs fan" card against me again, please.

I didn't say people couldn't follow more than one team, in fact I said I try and respect everyone's opinion. I just don't want them to minimize my team or coaches accomplishments.

You don't need to try and prove yourself by bringing up your "join date" and comparing it to mine. I don't even look at join dates. If someone is a good poster, they can be on here for one day and it doesn't matter to me. It means nothing. You are also the number one poster on this forum that is on other posters "ignore" list. That should tell you something.

Hey Ash with all due respect I really don't think that's true re "posters being fans of other teams specifically the Bucs". We're fans of TB12. The player not the brand I hated how he left and the circumstances leading up to it and I was vocal about that but I was always a fan and always will be and it's exciting to see he is in a great situation there.

News about his team is interesting because it impacts Brady. If he retires today I doubt there will be anyone here on the Bucs bandwagon and I also don't think anyone here will be cheering for them anyway in week 4.

As for Bill, he is GOAT coach, I'd rather have nobody else - but he's also far from perfect. No coach is perfect. All last year proved is he is not a magician either nor is there some magical "system" here in NE that wins championships regardless of roster. Talent matters especially at the most important position of all... probably more than coaching does.

Hi SB, I respect that, I've never said a negative thing about TOM, I love him for being apart of our team for so long. If Bill ever left here and went to another team, it would be the same for me....I'd be like...I appreciate what you did and you're the GOAT, like TB, but I'm not feeling you anymore. If you're not with the team now, I just can't root for you.

I had fun with you during the playoffs last year and busted your chops a little bit about being a Tampa fan earlier this year, but you never get personal/nasty and always take it in good stride and I appreciate it.

People also forget that Brady was very smart to go to Tampa and we have never seen him play with Rich Kotite as his coach.
Not necessarily Kotite but I think Brady would still do great even with a mediocre coach. A lousy HC didn't stop Fivehead from going to a Super Bowl.

It's ok I hear you. To be honest I really did not think I'd be interested at all in what Brady was doing with his new team and I even said that here but I was totally wrong. I was easily reeled in and invested especially knowing that the Pats were in a down year. If there's one player who is an exception to that - Brady is it.

I really don't think anyone here's loyalty to our team should be questioned unless they're cheering for the Bucs in week 4 or if we play them again in February. I don't think anyone here is in that category

Bill would be a little trickier for me. I guess it depends on the circumstances. If Bill pulled a Parcells stunt on his way out the door then I really don't think I could cheer for him.

Game 4 this year is going to be crazy around here!!! Hopefully, it will be clean fun and we'll come out on top.(The Pats I mean) lol

Glad you clarified that! J/K

I think I said something about Reid in January that you commented on. I wasn't trying to say Reid > Bill but he would have moved a little closer I think with a SB win - and by closer I mean from the 2nd to the 4th floor compared to the penthouse lol. Would have still been only coach since Bill to repeat. Wasn't one of his better coached games though.

You do a great job Ashley.

You are 100% correct in your statement. It's reality that in an "equal" environment, leadership is always the deciding factor. It's true in more than football. Never let anyone say otherwise.

It's understandable that the Brady (not Patriots) fans would be angry but the reality is patsfans.com is about the future and sidetracking every thread really compromises the discussion.

Maybe we need more than the Brady thread. Exile these idiots to a new "SB LII" thread so they can wallow in misery because they are victims.

What do you know about being an informed fan of multiple teams; considering the fact that you have spent years on this site posting flippant and total dumbazz commentary on just one team?

The genius of Socrates was his ability to reconcile what he didn't know. Think of the genius you would be if you took that same approach.

Seriously, the timeline of your membership only proves that age does not mean wisdom and dumbazzery can transcend the decades.

Coaches in most circumstances are a product of their players. The difference between a good , great and all time great is not very far off. First you have to be very good at what you do, to have longevity you need great players or a lot of good players and coaches you trust. You can’t implant a system without players because if you don’t win, your system gets sh*tcanned when you get fired.

Belichick is all time great, maybe the best but like any of the so called greats just look around. They never did it without the players.

Bill’s footprint is all over the team though. The 2001 job was as close as you can get to the 80 Olympic team in football as you can get. He’s made some blunders, 4th and 2 and even bigger with Butler recently in 17. Not sure if we’ll ever know what happned. But my lord, the Denver safety, the quarters scheme vs the Rams in 18, shutting down KC twice in the first half in both games in 18. So many good game plans, calls that coincided with the players. Games, outcomes were changed that maybe they shouldn’t have won because of BB and the coaches and players he surrounded himself with.

6th? Pfft. Nice try on the clicks pff. Stick to the player stats and give it up on the coach measurements please. It’s quite embarrassing.

So he's Barry Switzer, then?
Pretty much. Switzer and Seifert basically inherited that years Porshe and drove it fast and hard. Of course neither had any idea what it took to keep the car running.
