Yeah I tend to think there’s better available younger players. Gotta be some reason this guy keeps showing up though. I guess he retired, played baseball, and now is back.

Most likely similar to Ferentz & co. he has a history of doing exactly what he is told in practice.

Those are not signings meant to compete for the active roster, but ones to make practice go more smooth.

In those slots you rather have players that understand what they are supposed to do -- even if they can't do it at NFL level -- than ones with a higher upside that slow down drills because they repeatedly **** up due to a lack of experience.

He typically doesn’t bring back the same camp fodder guys he likes to churn them in and out.

Tyler Gaffney story....for some reason several years ago Gaffney took the T into Boston every am for some time. My friend was also on the train and the 2 of them started shooting the breeze. My friend didn't know who he was - seriously though, who would? Gaffney gave my buddy his game tickets for a regular season game out of the blue...always thought that was kinda cool...
I don't know how home team "team" tickets work but I've had opponent players/staff tickets several times and you have to go to will call

Games are the cherry on top really. The real work happens in camp and in practice during the week. It is not like he was just sitting on the couch for a couple years but most likely worked his ass off without getting that payoff to play in a pro game.

Honestly, it seems like a pretty miserable situation for any competitive person.
