Will Brady and Belichick embrace? That’s the real question.

As a couple of the recent posters have pointed out, the Bucs defense is among the very best against the run as long a Vita Vea is in the lineup. This is a tough matchup for what I expect will be a run centric offense by the pats.

Buccaneers had the #1 ranked run defense the last two seasons and the gap between them and #2 each year was sizable.

Newton will need to win the game with his arm because the Patriots aren’t going to show up and run all over them like some people think.

It's a historically dominant run defense with Vea and a very good run defense without him.

The linebackers, David and White, are really the straw that stirs the drink up front. They are so fast and you can't expoit them in the passing game either.

The Bucs secondary - IMO - still a fairly big weakness and one they were lucky to avoid getting exposed last year because the front 7 (or front 6 on many snaps) took care of teams passing threat on its own. I think the Bucs might regret not aggressively trading for a stud cornerback, as I thnk that's the only missing piece to them becoming a truly consistent and dominant defense.

Vea completely changed the whole complexion of that D. I have to admit that I love watching him play. He can stop the run and push the pocket and get sacks.

If the bucs pass rush is anything like it was at the end of the postseason, I don't. Jones doesn't need that abuse to start his career.
You can run on Ndamokong Suh but maybe not Vita Vea

The linebackers overpursue and you can take advantage of them, especially Devin White.

If Vea's there, I have a lot less confidence, but I feel we could attack Suh and the linebackers.

I hope he throws three picks like he did against the Packers...the greatest Qb of all time. A half dozen Qbs could have won a SB with that team last year.
A half dozen QBs could win the SB every year.

Would have been interesting to see what tendency Ernie could have found in the Bucs run defense when he started looking at them closely.

None of the the stiffs on our roster last year would be on that list

This clown take is such revisionist nonsense. The Bucs were a perennial laughing stock. Some good players sure but they constantly found ways to bumble away games year after year no matter how many different coaches or pro bowlers they had. Brady is the difference. Not only on the field but in the locker room. He had each of these guys believing they could win and he was able to maximize their potential and gave them all what they never had before, confidence. Everyone knows Arians is a buffoon and it seems like at some point last season he stepped out of the way and let Brady run the show and look how it turned out.

Think the whole Super Bowl roster comes back the following year at a discount for Winston or any other QB? Or for Arians? Nah

Hey...dementia sucks. I have family members who suffer from it too. I think you're looking for this forum, and maybe some people there will be polite and also pretend it's 2006.

That's a Dub

I don’t think so. Their corners started to play more to their strength the second half of the season. Carlton Davis is more of a press corner. I think their corners are fine.

What discount?

Nobody had any money.
