Update: Prince Aaron demands Packers fire GM

If conjectures about Saint Aaron's lack of support with the fanbase are accurate, given that the team feels they have a heir apparent, they should quench this smoldering dumpster fire and move on via a trade. Announce "We're open for trade and will consider offers up thru the trade deadline." Long trade window discounts bogus cheap immediate offers and enables catching a trade partner with a surprise training camp QB injury or early season QB injury.
The problem with that is that angry fans don't forgive "bad" moves, even when they were all for those "bad" moves in real time. So, moving Rodgers, if that leads to a mediocre season from the Packers, will lead to many of the same people who would currently support such a decision later complaining about the team's struggles, and demanding to know why the Packers didn't work out some way for Rodgers to stay.

We saw something like that happen here with the Brady situation.

I would not be surprised if some of the players would like to see him move on .... sh*t gets old

and if Cam went there, they'd love the guy because he's not a ****

This is a long read but gives so much insight into Rodgers and and his problems. Many first accounts of his attitude and how it affects the organization. Author contrasts Rodgers to Brady numerous times. Of course the Packers denied this report, just like they denied several in the the last decade. These are mostly former teammates speaking negatively about him. It also gets into the stuff we’ve speculated about - stat padding, going off script, selfishness, sensitivity, etc.

That article was sick.

AR is starting to shift into my Hall of Losers Club which includes esteemed members such as A-Rod, Peyton, Ulf Samuelson, Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas (Pistons) Claude Lemeuix and Goody

I think Rodgers is like an engineer or mathematician - a guy who has obvious talent and greatness - but he's an introvert and doesn't naturally bond with people. I can relate to that quite a bit. But it's a strange dynamic because he's also thrust into this role where he has to be the leader of the team, "a man's man", etc. and also in front of the bright lights. I don't get the sense he's a terrible person (though the thing with his family is strange); like, I don't think he's a sociopath. I think he's someone who would be better suited for a completely individual competition sport.

He is one complex dude.

Maybe he is an introvert and has a difficult time communicating his feelings.

Maybe he is gay and mad at the world because he can't be his true self.

I'm sticking to my attachment issue assertion from yesterday. The parents. The siblings. The teammates that hes excommunicated. The passive-aggressive crap.

It's easy to say hes just a primadonna a-hole but there is no doubt he has issues.

He needs to see a shrink TBH.

Based on that article and all the stuff we've read and seen from him, all of those things can be true and also multiply each other. And we can be damn sure if he weren't an ultra talented quarterback, no one would give a damn about what goes on in his head that leads to him acting like a total ass towards people. For your average Joe, we'd call him an ******* and move on. There seems to be some fascination with famous people and either rationalizing or understanding their poor behavior even though many people act like that.

I thought the Greg Jennings story was the most revealing.

There's no forking allowed during spooning or so I've been told.

You know what I don’t understand, there’s gotta be a cheesehead joke to go with a gay Aaron Rodgers.

This is what, I think, makes Tom Brady pretty remarkable. I think a lot of quarterbacks might not be assholes on the level of Rodgers, but I think when teams talk about their "leadership" a lot of it is merely fluff...that is, I think they just do the same thing as every other professional athlete by working hard, being decent to teammates, saying the right things...nothing that's truly a "leadership" trait that makes someone **** Winters even though you can milk what they do to say they "set an example", etc. But I think that Brady really does have, in addition to his football talents, a true gift for leadership...if he hadn't played in the NFL might have been one of those motivational speakers or some kind of public figure or leader of a large organization.

I think it's possible to sometimes overlook just how unique Brady is among professional athletes. Antonio Brown was on the bench in Pittsburgh 3 years ago complaining about not getting the ball enough despite winning; now he's taking a discount contract to be Tom Brady's #4 receiving option and thanking Tom for providing him with this lower paying, dimmer spotlight job, as long as he gets to be on the same team.

I'm still hung up on the parents thing. A child doesn't need to be best friends with their folks but to not really have a relationship with them just doesn't compute for me.

Very interesting article.

Very interesting article.

Too many unknowns for me. Very religious family; heavily-rumored to be gay son. Another son, Jordan, seems like a mega-douche Bachelor celebrity. Maybe his parents are also megadouches...it would sure fit.

Exactly what I was thinking. AR cut them off b/c they were piggy backing on his fame but failed to accept who he really is a person. I'm rolling with that one. Psychoanalysis over.

Jordan was tool on The Bachelorette.

I don't think anyone was support or calling for Brady to be let go. In fact it was widely expected that Brady will workout some deal. And when that didn't happen, some just hoped BB knew what he was doing.

There were those that wanted Brady gone. There were those whining about the JAG trade. There were those that were blaming him for everything short of global warming (and some might have been blaming him for that, too).

Don’t mock the Ross-man! Tom Brady Mack Jones style wisdom here!
