Where are all the trolls?

I'm glad they put out the video showing the draft is a democratic process in new england now...
Not really. It's still a dictatorship (as it should be). It's just this year the dictator got info that wasn't filtered nearly as much. He listened more to the guys on the ground.

I hope your 2021 post-draft chest thumping goes a lot better than your post-2020 season Week 1 chest thumping.

When did I do any chest thumping in my post? Don’t make sh*t up. I am almost always optimistic at the start of the year and, yes, sometimes I am overly optimistic. Last year I overestimated Belichick’s ability to overcome inferior talent with GOAT preparation, game planning and coaching. Even if a lean “fan-boy”, I still can, and do, look at decisions by BB and the coaching staff with a critical eye both during the offseason and in-season and will call them out when necessary. That type of optimism/criticism ratio is pretty typical of most posters here. I would even accept a 30% optimism/70% negativity blend. The posters to whom I am referring are in the 95%-100% negativity category.

My point was, and is, that there are a dozen or more posters here who claim to love the team (and should theoretically want them to succeed) but only post when they have something negative to write, about BB in particular, with a smattering of McDaniels hate as well. Now that there is a lot of post-free agency and post-draft optimism many of those same “fans” have gone dark. This is not a coincidence and you will never convince me that the members of this Patsfans.com fellowship of the miserable are real Patriots fans. In their defense, I suspect that lack of sexual relations with their preferred gender is playing a role. That can change a man over time.

Our very few data points include:
1) An unprecedented, and if you're paranoid, soviet-era-propaganda-lookin' "Everybody okay with that?" statement. That looked a little crow-eaty to me, if you squint and look at it with "Newly Interfering Kraft" goggles on. What we need is Wes Welker back explaining this through puns... "Kraft is doing the picking, and Bill would offer to give him a hand but you know how that ends, and I do mean happily. For Kraft I mean."

2) Non-shocking picks

3) However, yes we did double-dip at both Bama and OU

What we need is Wes Welker back explaining this through puns... "Kraft is doing the picking, and Bill would offer to give him a hand but you know how that ends, and I do mean happily. For Kraft I mean."

I don't think I've seen any Pats fan who doesn't love this draft, which means precisely Richard. We'll know whether it worked out end of they year at the absolute earliest. Ugh.

But if things start out not going well, remember: Mac is Cam backwards.

Curran wrote that this was a 3 win at best team in 2020 without BB’s coaching. Probably not far off but I think the coach could have been helped a lot by better drafting from the GM :)

Doesn’t matter anymore- it’s 2021 and while we’re IMO still a long way off from SB contention we are at least a watchable team again which is a big improvement. Good off-season so far and looking forward to what happens next.

Troll here. Best draft in years. BB took a lot of chances and got players
who dropped in the draft. A top notch wide receiver would have made
it a perfect draft.

If you are troll, you are an amateur troll, not a member of the “Most Wanted” list. That is reserved for the most extreme forces of negativity here.

Friend of mine that has been anti-Bill since the split is suddenly onboard with Jones. He went from pointing out Belichick's shortcomings in Cleveland to breaking down Highlights of Tre Nixon excitedly.

PS. This is the type of response that I would expect from a Jets fan or really any Patriots-hating fan of a longtime rival team, who was happy that the king was finally knocked off of his perch

or, maybe an ex-Pats fans who converted to another team for a very specific reason.

I didn’t root for Brady last year but I understand why many Pats fans did. There are, however, posters here who were secretly happy that the Patriots had a down year last year. Those people relinquished any right to call themselves Patriots fans, for all of eternity.

Those same people are now terrified that the reports of the Patriots’ death were, possibly, premature.

Still here. Brady's first real off season as GM, he managed to keep all 22 starters in this era. Unheard off, and they are loaded with stars and are getting OJ back as well. Even Paul Finebaum has BB's measured. I can't wait for some people to eat their words soon.

All the NEP did was address needs and seemingly drafted talented players to fill said needs.

Ask again in 3 years to get the final answer.
Lots of people are getting the champagne ready.

I recall when BB told Krafty Bob that he was never more sure of a 1st round in his career. That pick was Dominique Easily.

Ouch, where did you hear this? I will like the source to add to my bookmarks. Damn...

I read it after that draft.

Im going to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

let's wait until October. by then we'll have a pretty good idea of what kind of season we'll have... we're a long way away from knowing what this 2021 team has

I know what you are saying, I mean Jamarcus looked like a world beater his last year at LSU. I thought the Raiders had a legit QB.

Everybody looks like a winner on draft night.

I dont even watch the draft anymore because its turned into a glorified beauty pageant.

The trolls will be back in full force and effect after sports talk radio "gin up" some controversy and whataboutisms...

Why did the Pats pick player B instead of player C as Player C has a bigger ceiling or can "stretch the field" or take the "top off of the defense"...

Does Ronnie Perkins have a BLM tattoo similar to Justin Rohrwasser's 3% tattoo?

There will be more controversy after today.. stay tuned they are searching hard for controversy either real or contrived any controversy will do..

The trolls will never go away.. and neither will the BB detractors.

Next year's NE-Tampa GDT should be interesting...maybe there'll be dueling threads, one for the Pats fans on the main board and another for the Bucs fans in the Brady forum lol
Please change your screen name. Do we have to have Tom Brady's name thrown in our faces every time you post?

Yikes. That didn't age well

If the KY Derby wasn't going on TB12 would have been in the draft room.

It's easy to feel good after this draft because it mostly consisted of attacking needs by taking prospects that were widely seen as good. There were no real contrarian picks where Bill went against the grain of the rest of the league and the media.

Sometimes those picks work, sometimes they don't, but they're always confusing at the time and there was really nothing like that here.

Who were secretly happy that the Patriots had a down year? Can you out them and reference specific posts? Or are you just firing some liquid conjecture out your ass?
