DRAFT Rhamondre Stevenson

I'm thinking Stevenson looks like LGB with hands. BB wants that big pound the ball back to wear down the defense in the 4th quarter and just finish off games.

Definitely thought the Pats would take a RB eventually to round out that group. I was thinking a little later in the day, but 4th round is fine for a guy like Stevenson.

The Pats are gonna be a very physical team in 2021. Big tough running game and big talented Tight Ends.
I guess this means that when Mac takes over for Cam, he'll only need to throw about a dozen passes per game.

Looks like bb is really committed to the run this year.

and it is doubtful Rex will be resigned.
He’s still healing...and coach seems to redshirt his freshman rbs

Cam didn’t throw many either, but half of them were 5 yards short of the target.

He seems like the rb we have all wanted for years, a guy that can break arm tackles. We will probably see him next year since no rb plays until they are solid in pass protection and not fumbling etc.
It's hard to see whether you have a guy that can do that at the pro level - get stacked up at the pro level, you might have one guy, two guys arm-tackling, shown up in big plays, chewed out in the film room the next week... colleges are full of GUYS WHO COULDN'T EVEN GET DRAFTED... same with watching for "speed" and whether he's a "plodder"... I am stating the obvious I guess. Seems the usual caveat applies. Yay for if he's John Riggins, boo if he's Antowain Smith's slower friend.

On the other hand, if they still run the old Oklahoma drill, we're all set now.

Roll Pats.
Okay Boomer Sooner.

(Thats an actual fight song, Boomer Sooner.) Guess we wanted to draft a RB sooner rather than gator.

Looks like Eddie Lacy running in his early years. I know most think Blount first. I guess either would be good to aspire to.
Eddie Lacy....I've been racking my brain for who he reminded me of b/c it was not LG. Thank you.

Let's hope he doesn't eat himself out of the league.

Bruiser?

LeGarrette Blount Jr?

Running a 4.63 second 40-yard dash

Oklahoma defensive end Ronnie Perkins and running back Rhamondre Stevenson will return to action Saturday against Texas Tech according to News 9 Sports. The two have been suspended since the Peach Bowl national semifinal loss to LSU in last season's College Football Playoff due to failed drug tests.Oct 31, 2020

Interesting that Patriots selected BOTH....

Definitely see the Blount comparison but the kid can catch and pass block as well. I have to wonder if they'll use him like Devlin at times as well splitting him out, short yardage blocker and FB plunge and play action blocker.
They split him out a few times. Id like to see get us little more creative with our backs even if it's decoy stuff. Utilize and maximize.

My first question when talking about any RB is 'how is his pass catching game?' That is where the conversation starts for me. If a RB doesn't have that I don't tend to like him. Stevenson really doesn't seem able to do it, but at least he doesn't appear to have stone hands. So I'm okay with him being my big bruiser of the future. : ) As long as his ability to catch and turn it up needs to be respected to some degree, that's enough for a large power back like him. But IMO if you can't catch REALLY well, in today's game your generally a role back, unless your Derrick Henry.

Man - must be nice to have an All Pro be your running backs coach in college (DeMarco Murray).

Dude's legs are THICK!

When it comes to running backs, "breakaway speed" just means, "outruns his blockers." He and Shaq are going to be conga lining an awful lot.

3-4 are good rounds for rbs considering average shelf life.
