Belichick "Cam Newton is our quarterback"

He started the last 7 games rookie season and went 6-1 ... team was 4-5 before that.... they got to the playoffs

Thank you, for some reason he seemed to "come out of nowhere" in year 2 for me, but clearly I blanked.

Lamar Jackson
Well ok, but if we dont play him he will never get to the playoffs and its not like that is guaranteed with the QB we have now. I am ok with sitting him, but I am not going to expect a superbowl run.

If Mac Jones beats cam newton out, honestly that's a good sign that he's legit. Or it could be that cam newton is cooked.

Only thing is how many rookies have gotten to the playoffs? Let alone won a game.
Didn't Russell Wilson start all 16 games his rookie year and even won a playoff game on the road?

Adding to the list of starting rookies who made the playoffs: Luck, Griffin III

somebody asked for an example and I answered......I have no idea what your point is

Cam is a complete weirdo....

"...one finger, one pinkie, one thumb...blah blah blah..."

Just a friendly reminder, Patrick Mahomes sat his entire first year.

There is ZERO need for Mac Jones to see the field in year 1 unless A) Cam gets hurt B) Cam really stinks it up through the first 6 weeks.

My prediction, Cam has a decent bounce back season. Pats go 10-6 to make the playoffs.

Mac Jones holds the clipboard and does really well in practice and gives the coaches confidence he can step up in case of injury and he takes the keys next season.

On a lighter note has anyone seen this commercial for NFL Play60?

Just picture the kid 'Nate' as Mac Jones and replace the word Panthers with Patriots and you might have a chuckle. :excited:

Why is it delusion to hope that this offense, with its current players and coaches, can succeed with a QB whose biggest positives are accuracy and brains?
All those teams that needed QBs passed on Jones. Wonder why Surtain, Smith and Waddle ALL were drafted before Jones who is supposed to be the reason why Alabama really won all those games?

2 Alabama WRs were off the board before # 11 and the Alabama LT and RB were taken before # 25

False equivalency at its finest. Surtain, Smith and Waddle were all drafted before Justin Fields who incidentally, went four picks before Mac Jones, if he slipped to the Pats at 15, would this even be an argument? It's almost as if teams draft according to their own needs and player evaluations.

Stellar support cast or not, Mac Jones delivered arguably one of the most impressive QB seasons (against quality opposition) college football has seen. Undoubtedly, the caliber of teammate contributed but you're doing him a disservice by pretending it was the quality of teammate only which resulted in Jones' historic season.

You might want to read up on my posts before commenting next time. The moment we picked Mac Jones I became a supporter of his. Before he was picked I vented but once he was the selection I have been nothing but complimentary towards him
I wanted Fields too. It was a gut punch when the Bears traded up to get him as I thought it was us making the trade. But I am on board now with Jones too. Love his attitude.

Let it go Mike Felger. Cam is the starter, Jimmy G is not coming here. The Weei/98.5 guys should move on
No kidding. Their obsession with Jimmy was bizarre. As soon as we signed Cam I knew Jimmy was not coming back. Can't say I am disappointed either. I wanted a young Qb in the draft.

Thank you including another QB who will be a bust Fields and thank you for pointing out the idiotic team that drafted him.

The Bears drafted Tribisky over Mahomes. The Bears are the QB drafting equivalent of the Jets in the NFC. The last Bears QB who was any good was McMann and had the best defense in NFL history and Walter Payton. The Bears suck at drafting QBs so please quit lauding the pick of Fields.

Back to my point. The Broncos need a QB. The Alabama winner Mac Jones was sitting right there and they passed. The Jets passed and the 49ers passed. The Eagles are not set at QB and they passed. I was afraid of this. BB drank the Alabama QB koolaid. He is under pressure to win a championship without Brady. BB is already in the hotseat for letting Brady walk away and prove that BB ran the offensive roster down to scrubs.

LOL there’s Trollin again doing what he does best

Ehh..... Belichick was apparently so obsessed with JAG that he ended up torpedoing his relationship with Brady over it, started looking around the league for another job because of it, and had it lead to his losing the G.O.A.T. and ending the team's dynasty.

So it's tough for me to bag on the local media for mining that ratings vein.

I have to say this, if Jones cannot beat out Cam, then we F'd up our pick.

mahomes didnt beat out Alex Smith his rookie year. worked out well for him so far in his career.

Granted, Alex Smith on the chiefs was >>>> than Cam newton on the patriots last year.
