Re: Shula said Pats would need an *

I heard on the Big Show they said Shula said the exact OPPOSITE when the scandal originally broke. Can anyone find a link? Anyone know what they are referring to? If so, that's just pathetic for Shula. Either he's just senile or so jealous and over-protective of his record. Either way, he loses a lot of respect in my view.

I'm not attacking you personally here but I just find it funny how all the other 31 teams lose a ton of respect for Belichick and the Pats but you guys all go on witch hunts after people who have something to say on this topic. Just a little ironic to me, that's all.

Re: Shula said Pats would need an *

If the Patriots did nothing wrong then why did they get fined a half mil and lose a first round pick. Just because you guys are so oblivious doesn't mean it's not true.

They were fined for having a video camera on the sidelines which is against NFL rules.

Re: Shula needs an *: couldn't win one SB with Marino

But he did go undefeated in his 2nd season with a team and won back to back Super Bowls.

Funny how one comment made 10 years post retirement suddenly makes Shula a horrible coach. Think before you create threads, that's always a good start.

Yes he did in the olden days before free agency and he could load up and keep players againts their will.

I think there should be an ** by that record.

Re: Shula said Pats would need an *

If I'm a fraud I'm scared to learn the word you chose to use for a football team that cheated owners, players, coaches, and fans.
Well, Aqua, I'm afraid you just exposed yourself. In that sentence, you betrayed your veneer and exposed your genial self as a fraud. I'm a fan and I'm not cheated. I don't think the owners would have extended BB's contract and given him a game ball as this was unfolding if they felt cheated. I've heard the players and they do not sound like they feel cheated.

We're all with Bill. Accept it.

Aqua, come on. I have read some of your posts and they were OK. If you hate our team, then go to your own message board.

I really hate to break the news to you, but our team and fans have moved on. We are not listening anymore.

Of course your organization doesn't feel cheated, you guys benefitted from it.

I'm talking about the other 31 teams in the league that Patriots fans don't seem to think exsist.

Do you think it's only Patriot fans that have criticized Shula for his remarks? He's been criticized for them all day long by everyone. They were stupid comments, he deserves to be called out on them.

There were teams that said the video camera didn't taint anything. It wasn't all 31 teams. What's ironic is the teams that did make these statements all have an axe to grind with the Patriots. As for Shula's statement, I think the 1972 Dolphins team is pathetic with thier holding on to thier undefeated season like a kid with his favorite teddy bear. Celebrating when a team is no longer undefeated every year is lame.

I'm just defending my own guy here. Some of the names he's being called are just ridiculous and now I'm reading he was a bad coach and that's just laughable.

2-4 in Super Bowls he was massively overrated. Granted Dallas, Washington and SF all had better teams but his teams were smoked in all of those games. He had so much more talent than the Jets and still lost. He beat Minn. and Washington and should have.

A very good coach who gets a lot more credit than he should of.

there are other teams? oh, you must be counting that winless junior college team in miami.

the funny thing is we would have destroyed that team... 07 pats would be 20 point favorites

I hate Don Shula so much, I'd like to go back in time and sleep with his daughter and then call him and tell him about it.

Per Jerry Jones:
The first year I was on the competition committee, Don Shula, [Marty] Schottenheimer, [Tom] Flores, those were the guys that were on the competition committee. When I met with them in the spring, they said, 'Jerry, did you know that everybody in the league knew where y'all were going to run and whether you were going to pass or run.' We won the Super Bowl. And they said, 'Nobody could stop you, knowing where you were going and when you were going there. We had your signals from Day 1 going from the sidelines.'

The only ones who cheated were the teams, the players, the media, and the fans who cannot *stand* to see the Pats win yet another SB. Couldn't beat them on the field of play so they have to scapegoat them into somehow..somehow derailing what might be the greatest football team ever assembled and the greatest football Dynasty of the Salary-Cap era. You all must feel very proud of yourselves.

PS

Old Man Shula I used to respect you when you actually did something with your life. Now you have revealed yourself to be just another frightened old fraud.

Oh so because he did it the hard way by going through the draft means it should be given asterisks?

I don't think players were praying to get out of a city like Miami playing for a team that was winning championships.

I know deep down you're just angry and don't know what you're talking about so I'll give you time to cool off.

I'm sorry Aqua but he was wrong for making those comments.

First, week 9, not week 1. Wrong time.

Second, this year we are under scrutiny for every little thing and we are still winning. We had to overcome the refs in the Indy game. And, I wonder how Seattle felt watching that game.

And as far as the other teams, well I respect and like many of them.

But when I went to the '86 SB and we got whipped by Chicago, I had no excuses. They were awesome, flat out awesome. Never heard me whine.

I think we are getting people on these boards who had moma's and papa's that gave them everything they wanted. Real life is not like that.

We just happen to be the cream of the crop this year. Deal with it.

WHAT SHULA SAID IN SEPTEMBER

http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=1634

Don Shula is the winningest coach in NFL history. According to several reports, he actually put the blame on the Jets for allowing themselves to be taken advantage of, perhaps fully aware that every coach in history has made the same effort as Belichick (even if they didn’t film the effort).

Senile old douche.
