Tragic story unfolding in South Carolina.

The gunman who killed five people including a prominent doctor in South Carolina was former NFL player Phillip Adams, who killed himself early Thursday, according to an Associated Press source who was briefed on the investigation.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly, said Adams’ parents live near the doctor’s home in Rock Hill, and that he had been treated by the doctor. The source said Phillips killed himself after midnight with a .45 caliber weapon.
Adams played in the NFL as a defensive back from 2010-15. He played in six games for the New England Patriots in the 2011 season. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, and Atlanta Falcons. He also suffered multiple injuries in the NFL, including concussions and a broken left ankle.

OMG? o_O

The legacy of the 2011 Patriots secondary gets worse by the day.

This is Gilmore's hometown, a football hotbed, just south of the NC/SC border about 20 miles south of Charlotte. Very nice suburban community. Sounds like he killed the town's Doc Graham, very sad.

It was just yesterday when I was looking at the 2010, 2011 and 2012 defenses and I saw Phillip Adams' name with a pick in 2011 and I had no memory of him whatsoever.

F-ed up. Horrible.

Yeah he did not ring a bell when I heard the name, although that is not really a name I would remember unless he played a big role on the team. Awful news, hate to see when humans reach that point.

Ugh.
The fact that this happens once in a while with an NFL player is probably running to the norm statistically. Plus there's the uncertainty and destabilization thrown in of concussion incidence rates. And unfortunately, the more it happens, the more it grows in the back of our conditioned minds as an acceptable and normalized way of resolving things.

Does the media blame CTE, the NRA or the Patriots for this one?

What a piece of human garbage. This world needs cleansing. These stories get awful everyday.
