Sam Darnold to Panthers

Cutting Bridgewater seems like the most likely outcome to me. Hard to see anyone trading for that contract, and it wouldn’t cost them much to cut him.
Looked that contract up as well, doubt anyone's trading for him. Expect to see him cut soon or restructure that contract.

I’m sure wilson would love to be in a 49ers uniform and not a green beans one. Better franchise and much closer to home. Sucks for him.

Hm, maybe. But as a bridge or no? No way they'd move the #2 overall for him, but maybe next year's 1st. I can see a situation where they trade out of #2 for a bounty and then take Jimmy.

I suppose I could also see them taking Jimmy in a move that lets SF bounce up 1 spot. SF sends Garoppolo, NYJ goes down 1 slot and takes someone like Lance?
I'm going to base this solely on media perception, because we don't have actual team perceptions. And I'll toss out a question rather than a direct answer, because I think it'll cover more possible scenarios:

"100% certain day one starters" - Lawrence/Jones
"Possible day one, certain year one starters" - Wilson
"Possible day one, likely year one starters" - Fields
"Likely to need a lot of work/seasoning, less likely to be starting year one" - Lance

So, if you're a team taking Lance, aren't you likely looking for a guy who'll be a legit starter for at least one, and maybe 1+ seasons? And, if you're a team taking Wilson or Fields, aren't you looking for a serviceable starter who'll handle a transition in year one, should it come?

Also, tangentially, is there even a 1% chance that Bridgewater's not thinking long and hard about his decision to run for Carolina's money instead of sticking around to take over for Brees?

I hope BB will be able to sleep tonight with how dramatically his QB options changed with this trade..

-> 1) Jacksonville Jaguars
-> 2) New York Jets
-> 3) San Francisco 49ers (from Houston Texans through Miami Dolphins)
*** ) Atlanta Falcons
5) Cincinnati Bengals
6) Miami Dolphins (from Philadelphia Eagles)
7) Detroit Lions
8) Carolina Panthers
*** 9) Denver Broncos
10) Dallas Cowboys
11) New York Giants
12) Philadelphia Eagles (from San Francisco 49ers through Miami Dolphins)
13) Los Angeles Chargers
14) Minnesota Vikings
-> 15) Patriots

*** Possible

I have a good feeling Niners will pick Justin Fields. You don't move up and give up so much for Mac Jones.
With that said, that leaves : Mac Jones and Trey Lance.

Will Falcons pick a QB?
(Unlikely, heard they want to trade down, The Atlanta Falcons are “open to the idea” and have held “exploratory” talks with other clubs for the fourth overall selection, according to Sports Illustrated.)

Will Broncos waste another pick for a QB?

IF Patriots stay "Pat", they can end up with either: Mac Jones, Justin Fields, or Trey Lance.

If Atlanta passes on a QB, NE is almost assured of either Fields or Lance...

Only if nobody else trades up. The Broncos, Bears, and Saints are still looking at QB. Broncos have Lock but they’ve shown mixed signals on their confidence in him. They could draft Fields with their 9th pick if he falls to them. The Bears only have Foles under contract next year and the Saints only have Taysom Hill under contract next year. I could see either of them targeting Lance and letting him redshirt this season.

The Vikings would be in a prime position with regards to taking Lance, too.

So are we completely ruling out Bridgewater as qb3 in our qb room? I don't think we should.......
