I think he took the pay cut cause he wanted to stay as a number 2Couldn't they still trade him now that other teams might like his contract better now ?

Right, but if they were to receive an offer they couldn't refuse...I think he took the pay cut cause he wanted to stay as a number 2
....then we don't want himI think he took the pay cut cause he wanted to stay as a number 2
(Chris objects!)....then we don't want him
Did MM actually say he prefers to be a 2nd? Or is the media saying that?I think he took the pay cut cause he wanted to stay as a number 2
"And, should be noted, the contract is also tradable if the opportunity arises."
I totally get it. You get to make millions without having to risk a torn acl or concussion. The only problem is when you get stuck behind someone like Brady or Favre and never get to play and then the league forgets your value. What's with these guys like Mariota and Trubisky content on being #2 rather then competing for a starting job?
Why do people keep saying Gilmore won’t play for $7 million. He doesn’t have a choice. There’s really not as much extra space to be had as we might believe. There really are not that many players with sizeable Paragraph 5 salaries to easily be converted to bonuses or guarantees and lower their cap charges
Gilmore is not playing for $7 million. If traded, they save $7 million. But, extending him with a raise might not lower his cap figure much because I don’t think the extension would be that long considering his age.
Mccourty’s contract already voids after this year and would not be an easy extension. This is the final year of the Hightower’s contract. The only players who could be easily redone would be Mason and J. Jones.
