Maybe we already have the deal done?
Hunter yeah who am I Catching passes from Cam or Jarret I have Buff on the other line.
Bill you’d be catching passes from Watson and we are revolutionizing the tight end play book.
Hunter to Buff yeah I can’t talk
Wouldn’t that be something

Actually this bit just now from The Athletic is fascinating:

“Then, there’s this: If the Patriots acquired Watson from the Houston Texans, he would only come with a 2021 cap hit of $10.54 million. They don’t just have enough room for Watson – they could also bring in another receiver. Watson’s cap hit would increase to $35 million in 2022, $37 million in 2023 and then $32 million in 2024 and 2025.”
That’s what I was saying a couple of minutes ago. He’d be the easiest to trade for cap wise this year. Then the cap should skyrocket next year which would make that $35mil more attractive.

I’ll say this...this past 36 hrs has been a top-10 time fun-wise as a fan in my 27 years as a fan.

LOL, SOFJ!

So Watson has a NTC? So theoritically, he could try and force a move to NE?

Not saying it would, but in theory, he could, right?

No, damn fat fingers and my phone. Watson has put the Patriots on his list for preferred destinations
Did you hear this for yourself on NFL Network or are you going by the one guy on Twitter who is repeating the same thing to multiple beat writers? Just curious since the only thing I’ve heard is it’s Denver or San Francisco for him.

Edit- See the Michael Lombardi video shown two posts above

Yup. Take out the “prorated bonus” and this is what the Pats would be responsible for.

Presumably the Pats would restructure his deal prior to 2022. But the question is if the Pats would ever feel comfortable paying over $39m a year in real cash (on average) for a QB. Presumably they’d try to get him to take the Brady hometown discount.

If true, can’t imagine anyone choosing either of those two teams over NE.

Caserio reportedly loves Dugger. I do too and think that he is going to be a big time player for many years, but if Houston required a young starting-level player in addition to a huge draft haul, I’d gladly add Dugger (or Uche).

Sometimes I forget how old I’m getting..... this made you like 8 when they won in 2001? I was 25, and that was the most shocking and thrilling moment ever as a Pats fan to me. I still get chills over that one, rivaled only by the ridiculous 2 weeks in October 2004 with the Red Sox. This is definitely fun and different, and I‘m sure enjoying it, but winning that SB against the Rams just completely changed everything.
