Can we finally stop pretending that Cam is good?

I really hope Cam Newton finds someone to help with his throwing motion this spring.

For heaven's sake Josh McD get this man the help he needs.

Worst staring QB in the NFL and it is a complete waste to sign TE and WR when Newton cannot even throw them the ball

It's like having a brand new car then removing the engine and replacing it with an engine that has 175k miles.
It's mid-March, right?

A bit more context. We do have to remember that his sudden dropoff did begin after he tested positive.

No it didn’t. He had one good half against the worst defense in the league before COVID and otherwise was the same guy before and after his asympomatic vacation

Altering his dictates when new studies give more information is such a bad characteristic for a man of science!
Except that’s not what he did. He admitted misleading (i.e. lying to) the American people, telling us only what he deemed “we were ready to hear.”

So yeah, that is a bad characteristic for a man of science. You would do well to educate yourself.

Qbs do not fix their mechanics after 10 years in the league.

Claims without proof are just wasted space on the internet. I find lots of claims about Fauci do not hold up when put into context, especially the context of our glorious leader who presided over half a million covid deaths and told us it would all go away by April.

I came to this thread for the first time to ask “Who exactly is pretending that Cam is good?” and see the name Fauci and the phrase “misleading the American people”....

The fact that Fauci is a tool who has admitted being deliberately misleading to the American people does not bode well for the point you are trying to make....

Why are you trying to turn this into a political pissing match?

Newton is the QB for next season. Anyone that thinks otherwise is in denial.
My hope is that we draft a qb in the first round and is better than Cam in camp

His contract runs counter to you opinion

Same thing happened last year when the pats said he is not guaranteed at starting role yet he he started all 16 games even though he was the worst starting QB in the NFL.
I agree that it is very likely Cam starts the season and fairly likely he finishes the season barring injury.

I'm more educated than you are. Trust me on that.

Last year's circumstances are not the same as this year's.

Yesterday proved that.

I disagree with that. Since some of his incentives are based on getting the teams to the playoffs or the SB. If he is a backup he has no shot to reach those incentives.

you don’t sign a backup contract were potentially 3M in incentives are tied to your post season playing time!

Proved what exactly? That if not Newton then they are relying on some rookie QB? Not sure what is worse.
Last year they got Cam because they didn't have cap room and couldn't upgrade the offense.

This year they signed Cam to a backup-level contract.

They just spent almost $100m in total contract value upgrading the passing offense.

Do you really believe Bill doesn't think he can upgrade the QB position over Cam Newton? Really? You don't think he won't try?
