They locked up their best players before they became free agents and let go of the ones they couldn’t afford. Please, they consistently let those sort of players go rather than resign them. They've always prided themselves in letting a player go a year too early than a year too late. The Bucs kept those sort of players. Lavonte David is still very good, but starting to lose a step. Barret was much better with Vita Vea in the line up and they could have justified letting those players go rather than tieing them up to contracts that will cause problems down the road. Singing a handful of players to these sort of contracts over 15 years is nothing like doing it all in one year.
The Bucs have retained their top FAs. Godwin, Shaq and David were rated at #1 in their positions going into FA.You assume that. But there is no way to know that for sure. Now that Shaq Barrett has his deal will he get soft? Will Brady start to show his age? Or will Gronk totally fall apart at 32? Will the team be able to deal with their success and opposing teams looking to player at a higher level now that they are the champs?
You can argue that the NFC is worse with teams losing players, but the Bucs have done little to nothing to make themselves better than 2020 at this point. So you are just speculating. I am just speculating which way it can go. None of us know at this point.
Since when did the Pats get Sam Darnold?Having the worst QB in the nfl isn’t not having a need.
Keeping this team together for another year with Brady, will likely make them much better next year. Anything can happen, but you could see the team really struggling at times last year in the early going and improving down the stretch. The offense evolved to become a blend of what Ariens wants and what works for Brady. They are one of the most talented teams in the NFL right now.You assume that. How am i speculating? They have a cupcake schedule as well. Idk how you say that with a strange face. They brung back their defensive pieces.
Darnold is easily a better qb than newton. It’s not even close. And Darnold kinda sucksSince when did the Pats get Sam Darnold?
Brissett is not an NFL starting QB. Going from a mess at QB to a backup caliber is not really much of an upgrade.Cam literally cant throw the ball. He throws ducks
I think the priority would be a starting Center and back-up interior linemen. So priorities now are QB & LB?
No, they chose not to over pay good and great players when they were on the downside. Chose not couldn't. By your logic, the Bucs cannot afford many of their signings this year. They are saying damn the future, the future is now. They locked up their best players before they became free agents and let go of the ones they couldn’t afford.

You just seem to have no understanding of this. The Patriots kept their best players most by extending them before they reached free agency until they were on the downside. Who did Tampa keep that is on the downside besides gronk who they paid 4 mill to have this year and 4 more to not next year. No, they chose not to over pay good and great players when they were on the downside. It can always explode in your face, but they sure as hell are seizing the moment and giving it a go.They had a cupcake schedule last year and two thirds of the way through the season, they weren't remotely guaranteed a playoff spot. They went into their bye week with a record of 7-5. Granted with the Saints falling off the cliff will give them a much easier path to the playoffs since they will have a far easier chance to get to the playoffs.
And the Bucs' defense played great in the playoffs, but during the season they underperformed in many games. And some of their key pieces are on the older side like Lavonte David.
They could be better than they were last year like you expect or they could implode. They are gambling they will be a top Super Bowl contender for the next year or two. It could pay off and get them another title or two or explode in their face. We don't know that yet.
Role player, really good at a vital role, for role player money.Anderson 2 years 7 mil could go to 11 mil with incentives. LOVE this contract
I’ve seen the picture. Nothing really intriguing about it. Eastern Airlines has a contract with Kraft and they fly all over. Why would they use a passenger craft to meet up with a player when they can easily use a private jet?No obvious answer which makes it intriguing
