Player Signing Patriots sign DT Davon Godchaux

I don't know much about this guy. What I've now read makes me think he's pretty average. Maybe he's played well against the Pats?

He was on the team in 2019 and their run defense was terrible.

What part of Miami did you think was not terrible in 2019? The team as a whole was terrible, but that does not mean that all 54 players were terrible. Godchaux does not fix our d-line. He will be a solid player to pair others with. Just a good building block,

Problem is, if you go to @BaconGrundleCandy’s thread on this, there really isn’t anyone like that. Some mid-late rounders who might be 1-2nd down players, but no studs like Wilfork or Washington early. So this is the way to go IMO.

That thought crossed my mind as well. I do trust in BB though. Kyle Van Noy was pretty much a hyped prospect that basically had not done that much in Detroit until he got here. So I’m guessing BB sees a similar turn around in 21 for this cat.

@BaconGrundleCandy I'd like to go dig up his takes on TeDarrell Slaton, Tyler Shelvin or Quinton Bohanna. Shelvin looks good to me.

Slaton will either go in the 7th or will go undrafted. For as big as he is, he’s not very good against the run. Pad level, technique, and over-pursuit were all problems for him.

It's the building block time of year - will be interesting to see how the rest of the DL process plays out from here.
