No worries. SF only has $24m in cap space and holes to fill. Cutting or trading Jimmy puts them up near the top of the pack in total space. I really think a trade for Darnold makes the most sense for them. Jettison Jimmy and improve the roster overall.Must have mixed up 2020 and 2021 then. My mistake, nevermind the dead money then.
They can move on from him cheaply this year.I think the odds that JG is on the '21 49ers are substantially higher than on the '22 team.
Why eat that much dead cap space when you don't even have a proven replacement yet. If I recall correctly next year they can move on from him for cheap.
Yes, I think he’s extremely popular with the players.I think Cam is much MUCH more highly regarded by NFL players than by us fans, at this point. They remember 2015, we only remember 2020.
I remember @Ring 6 said one week, I believe it was before the first or second Bills game (but the search function on this forum has gone to crap), that if Cam started the next week, he would officially think Bill has lost it. I’m beginning to think he was on to something.Either Bill is intentionally sabotaging the franchise, or he has truly lost it/gone senile. There is no in between.
Agree 1000%. This is just a bad move all around. I would take any FA QB over Cam. This guarantees ANOTHER losing season. How long will Kraft want to deal with losing seasons.I'll say it. This is the move that makes Bill's exit come a lot sooner than it could if it turns out to be a mess.
It has been kinda weird how many current and former NFL players have come out in his defense since late last year. Ty Law just did it this week.Yes, I think he’s extremely popular with the players.
"Cannon, a 6'5" 358 pound mauler, played left tackle throughout his career with the Horned Frogs, but projects as a guard with the New England Patriots."HUH??? The Patriots didn't draft Cannon to play GUARD. They drafted him as an OT.. ONWENU is whom they drafted to play guard.
This is clear that the Pats will be drafting a QB in the first round of the draft next month. Let's hope all the good ones aren't snapped up prior to the Pats' picking.
im on the side of this argument that it was pretty well established Brady was looking for a bit more longer term commitment than the yearly incentive laded one year deal. yes, on Mar 11th Brady wanted out. Prior to 2019 season...I think he would have taken a 2 or 3 year deal at avg 25mAnd they’ve haven’t not been in over 5 years.
