Bedard: Patriots teammates "didn't trust" Stidham

I think Stidham not playing the last two games says more about how BB approaches team building and game day decisions than it does Stidham's overall talent and potential. For the record, I don't think those are very high at all, but I think Belichick wants to maintain a specific culture, and if Stidham isn't putting in the same work as Cam, or showing the same commitment to football as Cam, Bill would rather maintain the message of "If you want to play, you have to put in the work", than reward a player who didn't work as hard just because he wanted to see some game tape on him. Agree or disagree, I think that's always a major factor in Bill's decision making.

If the report is true and he wasn't even good enough to start over Cam...what was he doing on the team? Take a shot on someone else. Release him. If that's truly what they believe, how can they not see him as someone worthy of being cut?

I really think Kid Stid's issues are between the ears. Granted he's not experienced but my god that pic on the throne w/ the golden football oozes of entitlement and self-inflated value.

2020 was all about BB rebooting his brain.

Whether he has the talent and worth-ethic to succeed is a different matter.

I agree 100% with the culture angle.

Hard pass. Can't handle pressure, period. Fixing this is not something that can be coached.

And by grain, I assume "metric f—kton."
It must be great to write something like that and have people buy it and then spread it around.

I'd like to see how many of these few were actually serious too
Count me one. I wanted him to start one game, with all the practice and prep time associated with that. I get "In Bill we Trust" but I also believe in Reagan's "Trust but Verify". Continuing to play Cam just illustrated Einstein's definition of idiocy.

Man, being here is toxic. I thought on first read you were saying 2020 was about BB rebooting his own brain. Then, on first read, I thought the follow-up was about whether BB had the talent and work ethic to succeed.

That's what the larger PatsFans pond has done to my mind. My apologies that it came out in my reaction to your post.

How old is Jeff George right now?

Ha all good!

His son plays for Pitt.

If his teammates didn't trust Stidham I'm not sure how much practice and prep time would have said about him that hasn't already been said.

Highly doubtful he makes the roster so... that's coming I think.
