Am I the only one sick of all this adulation about Mahomes' play in the Superbowl and how he was the only one fighting and so much ooohing and aaaahing about 2 incomplete passes. For god sake, there have been tons of crazier and more meaningful incomplete passes in history. Passes that would changed Championships, not narrow the lead on a 31-9 blowout.

Do you remember anyone oohing and aahing with 19 seconds left and down 14-17 in SB 42, Brady hit Moss on the money for a 70 yard hike that would have given us 19-0

Do you remember anyone ooohing and aaahing that Brady delivered to Amendola perfectly up 17-15 in SB 46 at 20 yard line, with 4 min left.

Can we stop talking about Mahomes' frickin incomplete passes................... it's an incomplete pass for god sake. And it was in a blowout. The outcome still wouldn't have changed.

Well they were on target for sure and great passes. They were also well contested and it could be argued that better play calling and reads wouldnt have forced him to make such spectacular throws.

No one has ever been so dominant and outstanding in a non-touchdown, multiple turnover performance as the highest paid player in sports in their biggest legacy game.

Before the game, the media and everyone else tried to make the theme of the game to be the changing of the guard, the young challenger to the throne of the GOAT and after the thorough besmirching of Mahomes and the Chiefs and forever burying any future GOAT discussion, there’s nothing else to discuss.

The game was a beatdown, Brady outplayed him, he’s the undisputed GOAT that’s 2:0 in the playoffs against Mahomes so all that’s left is hyping up the guy that will play for the next 10 years as someone who’s oh so wonderful to watch running around and throwing circus passes.

Mahomes needs to learn how to take the check down, check to a run when they're daring you to and needs to be more careful with his scrambles. Unbelievable talent but give me Brady efficiency over Mahomes.magic

In another thread, I was watching a QB skills challenge from 2002 where they competed in throwing as far as they can. I think Brady topped out at about 66 yards. Aaron Brooks won with a 75 yard throw. I think the next best was about 69 yards.

That throw to Moss was about 75 yards on the money in a game, the biggest game, in pads. It was a remarkable throw. 6 inches further and it might have been the greatest play in NFL history. So close.

I mean they were legitimately great throws in desperate situations that should have been touchdowns. He was clearly the best player on his team and the only one even giving them a shot despite facing the most adversity.

No need to pile on and not say he did some impressive things.

I am saying adulation for incomplete passes is non-sensical.

I'm not sure if a desperation throw into quadruple coverage = "Should have been touchdowns".

Are we blaming Mahomes for two specific incompletions that were entirely the fault of the receiver?

Call me old fashioned but i’m not a Mahomes fan in the slightest. I’m not a fan of dual QB’s nor QB’s that can’t wait to escape the pocket and throw on the run. I prefer Brady, Manning, Montana, methodical pocket passers that can dissect a defense without needing to somersault into a behind the back triple fake lateral.

My point was that the game was so one-sided, any future GOAT debate crashed and burned forever so there’s nothing else to discuss except Mahomes’ gymnastics.

Imagine if the Chiefs won, there would dynasty talks, Mahomes GOAT talks, passing of the torch talks, whether Tampa was right to bet it all on Brady, whether Andy Reid is a GOAT contender, and 50 other topics.

But fortunately, the Chiefs got blown away and the two initial things, Tampa’s defensive performance and Brady’s cementing his GOAT status for the 50th time got old in about two days.

I can think of 3-4 big throws that a receiver might theoretically have had. Not one of them was entirely the fault of the receiver, though the Kelce one was one Kelce normally makes. But tipped balls in traffic aren't "entirely the fault of the receiver", IMO.

I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen so much praise over incomplete passes in my damn life. I can make crazy twist throws too for incomplete passes. Where's my half a billion dollars?

I love all the chit chat. The more the merrier. Build them up. "Passing of the Tourch". "The GOAT vs The BOAT". "The great Aaron Rodgers". "Mahomes is already in the HOF". Brees snuck into the conversation somehow.

I love it.

Tom F'ing Brady has shoved so much bull shyt up the media's ass over the years that it has become prophetically entertaining when a mediot ass clown says Brady can't do something.

I can't wait for next year. Someone will need to come up with something to bring attention to himself. Who will be the next clown?

Literally saw some analysts tweeting: I’ve learned to never, ever bet against LeBron James, Tom Brady, or Patrick Mahomes.

The Super Bowl must have been such a dilemma for the clown.

Mahomes sucked in last years Super Bowl as well and only won due to the 49ers falling on their face. His stat lines for Super Bowls should forever forbade him from being in the GOAT conversation by themselves.

The GOAT discussion since 2014:

Brady can’t be the GOAT, he has 3 SB’s, Montana has 4.

Wins SB 49, SB MVP.

Brady can’t be the GOAT, he’s 4-2 in the SB, Montana was a perfect 4-0.

Wins SB 51. Ok, Brady’s the GOAT.

Beginning of the next season: “Is Brady the GOAT?”

Wins MVP, has 500+ yards/3 TD’s in the SB.

Beginning of the next season: “No, but really, is Brady the GOAT?”

Wins SB number 6, beats Mahomes away to reach it.

Beginning of the next season: “But actually, is Brady the GOAT?”

Goes to a different team, wins SB number 7, wins SB MVP, beats Brees, Rodgers and Mahomes.

Brady had to win at least 5 SB’s to surpass Montana.

Rodgers and Mahomes have jumped over Montana, Manning, etc simply based on the fact they play in Brady’s era so the media has been putting them into discussions they have no place being. And of course, the horrendous mistake people make to confuse athleticism with talent. Because we all know Vince Carter was more “talented” than Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki.

You know how sad and pathetic it’s become when incomplete passes are the latest attempt to make a Brady contemporary into a hero who gave his all but his poor, 14-2, defending champion team that was a favorite going in, suddenly became a weak team with only savior Mahomes trying, hen Brady and his team beat it.

If the fawning over the incomplete passes is insufferable, just imagine if he had won! There would have never been an end to it.
