OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Combining the free agent and Gronakeers thread seems appropriate today, so here's a question for those of you who actually paid attention to the Tampa defense this past season:

If you can only have one, do you choose an obviously diminished, but still game JJ Watt on a 1-2 year deal for something like $10m per year, or a longer term deal with Barrett at the money he's likely to command?

531 pages later it's the 1st time I looked in this thread. Nothing to see here.

EDIT: OK my bad I didn't read all 531 pages...I suppose their is some good information in a post or two.

I would sign Barrett.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Bucs looked into Edelman. I think he is a post 6/1 cut.
Edelman would sign for peanuts if the Bucs asked him to. He may be shedding some tears watching all the "fun" Tom and Gronk are having in the Florida sun and filming all these commercials. It would be a good spot for him as he could do what Gronk did having his targets limited which will keep him heathy and more effective when called upon.

It wasn't Brady that reached out to Fournette. That is a pure lie. Both Licht and BA said Brady has no say in personnel matters.

It was their new Assistant to the Assistant Traveling Secretary they hired who has been working the phones part time and making calls on behalf of Licht.

Fournette said himself that Brady called him. Does that make Playoff Lenny the liar?

Cheap one year rental for the Bucs and he'd take Johnson under his wings. Johnson really need to wake up and understand he is in the NFL where you can't get by on just talent.

You're missing a good one.

It's only possible if Godwin walks, otherwise they already have almost too much talent at receiver as it is.

But I 'd love it if the Bucs got Edelman. The only way he is making it to the Hall of Fame is if he can get a couple more good years in and have a couple more monster stats in the playoff. It is definitely a long shot and it's not going to happen with the Pats. Can't do it without a QB on a team that is also in the middle of a rebuild.

If his knee is fine we should keep him. He's not expensive and we need him. If he asks to be released then that's another matter. I love what Tom did this year but doesn't mean we have to hand over all our legends to Florida. If he wants to leave though we should do it since the odds are pretty good that we will suck again for another year.
