OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

My friend told me this morning he was listening to Get Up on ESPN at the gym and they were talking about the Buccaneers trading for Odell Beckham Jr. and letting Godwin walk.

Whatever gets the clicks and ratings I suppose.

Don't think there will be another TE who can straight up block an elite DE, anytime soon.

I just realized that his first TD doesn't happen without a perfect pick by Mike Evans. That was beautiful.
Honestly, what impressed me the most was his work as a blocker. The design of those running plays was not a Brady influence, correct?

I don't care what people say. Gronk is the greatest tight end to ever play football.

Spare me the "Tony Gonzalez is the GOAT!"

Or the Kelce people who have come out of the woodworks the last two years.

They have to find room for Edelman.

He will be a Buc just watch.

Gronk looks kinda fast again.

Unreal hands. 14 TDs in the post season.

Listening to Shaq Barrett on First Take, this guy really really wants to stay in Tampa. He wants to get paid too, but I believe he's willing to take a home town discount. Crazy the Brady effect at work.

Which people?

A TE is not a TE unless they can run and pass block.

If that is not their 1b function they are an H-Back.

If we are going to have the Gronk vs Gonzo discussion (who did block) Gronk was superior. Nothing against Gonzo but he just wasn't at that level.

Kelce, Sharpe, Winslow, etc are H-Backs.

End of discussion.

Give it a couple months and the honeymoon hangover to wear off and alot of these guys will still go for the most money. Of course at a parade most of these guys are going to say they want to run it back

In 2014 after the superbowl Revis said he would love to run it back. And then left for the Jets.

I've been frequenting some forums over the last year or two and seen some Kelce GOAT talk.

I agree about your H-Back assessment. You can't even really call those guys true tight ends.

Brady won't win another ring.

The biggest obstacle is still Seattle. Rodgers in Dallas would be another hurdle.

Seattle has to find a way to fix that defense and running game.

Whatever. Those fans do not understand the demands of the position.

Tristan Wirfs since Week 6:

15 games
12 pressures (0 sacks, 3 hits, 9 hurries)

Context: 15-20 pressures allowed usually leads the league among tackles for a season. Wirfs played like the best tackle in football as a 21 year old rookie & deserves more recognition.

A lot of disappointment in him not being named all pro.

He probably won't. But he accomplished what he had to. Which is win one without Bill B.

Now Bill has to win one

If you're talking about that specific play; that was straight out of our playbook.

And yes, I would argue that the all the pick plays that are suddenly showing up in the Bucs game script is a heavy Brady influence. He loves to have receivers get open fast. We used to run a lot of pick plays while Brady was here.

No, I'm talking about the 2 TE set running plays showing Fournette. They used a lot of PA off those looks, but the runs themselves.
