NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION OFFICIAL Super Bowl Bucs/Chiefs Game Thread

You can turn the TV off...
That's what I did.
Just as I always do, I ignored the pre-game, taped the game, started watching it after it started, put the volume down low, skipped the commercials (except the great T-Mobile one I watched here with Tom and Gronk that was banned by the NYFL), skipped the crap halftime show, watched the game and enjoyed the celebration that followed.
It was the best non-Pats SB that I ever witnessed.

C'mon D....smash this punk!
It's great seeing posts like this after the fact. They actually did just that and on one play I thought they broke him for good.

It's not a personnel mistake.

You, and others like Biffins refuse to accept the fact that Tom didn't want to be here.

It can't be a mistake if a player doesn't want to play for your team.

Same goes for Gronk.
The question you and all the BB apologists refuse to answer is:

why Brady and Gronk didn’t want to be here anymore ?

the answers is Bill Belichick

As much as the public narrative is about the quarterbacks, this SB was about defense, penalties, and a gap in offensive line play.

Do we? If you/others don't enjoy the discussion, that's fine. You can ignore threads or individual posters, or, I don't know, just be an adult and brush it off/not let it bother you if that's how you feel. It's one of the biggest personnel mistakes in Boston sports history, right up there with Seguin in recent memory and Babe Ruth if you want to go back that far. It's part of the narrative of the GOAT QB and there is nothing wrong with talking about it on a Patriots fan forum.
Babe Ruth? Nah. Nothing will ever top that.

Pats won 6 SBs with Brady. If he was 23 not 43 then maybe the Ruth comparison works. Hopefully there’s no curse though lol.

The mistake wasn’t seeing Brady leave on its own, it was seeing Brady leave and having nobody better than Stidham as your starter. Bill got his reboot and I really hope what we see in a few years makes it worth it.

That may or may not be true, and you have no insight or evidence.
Even if it is true, it doesn't mean Belichick did anything wrong. He's who he is, Brady is who he is, and it ran its course.

What's with this passionate need to fix blame, to say a mistake was made?

Woah, Manning wore Broncos colors for the pre-game HOF honor!!! Hmmmmmm
He'll be replaced when Vinatieri goes in with his Indy colors.

okay so sack bill and bring back brady/gronk. Do we now win the Super Bowl again?

It's not that simple but if you like simple then roll with it.

Yeah being upset with Bill for rebooting the team and watching his ex QB win it all is an awful reason to fire him.

A failed rebuild is a way better reason to fire the coach and Gm. Or the leaders on the team quitting on the coach. we’ll see about the first one and there’s no evidence of the latter yet.

I didn’t say he was wrong but right or wrong, in my opinion he is the main reason those two didn’t want to be here anymore.

Something broke between Bill, Brady and Gronk after SB 52.

i find kind of weird for a coach that is so flexible week to week game plan wise with the ability to mold the team based on the opponent and be so inflexible as a GM with the way he treats players. In my mind, his approach of how he build a team has not evolved much for 20 years despite the way the game has changed.

I do wonder if Kraft knows the real reason why Butler was benched. I don’t buy the explanations we have heard so far.

Chiefs fans are complete scum. They’re as insufferable as their football team.

I have to admit i thought it was impossible for Brady to win the 7th

I was wrong...

Grandi Campioni Tom an Gronk FOREVER
PATRIOTS...

I guarantee Bob knows the reason. Jonathan as well and others in the immediate circle of the Krafts and BB. Linda. The kids. Berj. Possibly Caserio as well.

31-9. That should be rubbed in to their faces ad nauseum ad infinitum.

And I didn’t like the implication that Mathieu seemed to be making in his deleted tweet. Fack them.

Ooooh is this the “we had protection problems” excuse for the year 2021? :D

Let the implosion commence!

Yeah, Hill and Kelsey weren’t used to being, you know, covered

Mahomes is the best QB in the league? How do you justify this absolute goonism? The best QB in the league is the one that takes his team on the road for three games in the playoffs and then OBLITERATES some "phenom!" when the live fire starts and the bullets start whizzing.
WTF is it about Brady that has so many people trying to discredit his greatness? Even now the 'yeah but' crowd is working hard to justify the Bucs win for some other reason.
