Deshaun Watson? (UPDATED: Caserio Says Team Has "no interest" in trading him)

He hasn’t been to Florida either only a fool would pick NYC over both place when you factor weather/taxes into it

To each their own.

No thanks. We just had a running QB who isn't a very good passer. Look how that worked out.

One that passed for 4,823 yards, leading the league?
At 8.9 yards per attempt, leading the league?
2nd in passer rating?
3rd in completion percentage?
Despite being sacked a league 2nd-worst 49 times?

Watson would be a great fit, IMO

We can fix WR with 3 free agents signings.
Our Rookie tight ends should be more productive.
We just need a QB.
We should look at moving Harry in a Hernandez type tight end WR hybrid.
Would March him up with backers, safeties and D lineman.
I don’t think rookie WR is the way for this team to go.
It’s veterans all day.
Use the draft to build the d line and linebacker spot.
Build around a Jimmy G or Marcus Mariotta worst case scenario your a 8 and 8 floor 10 and 6 ceiling Team.
If we want to go rookie QB
Wilson- would trade up to 3 1sts for him
Lance- would trade 2 1sts
Field and Jones would consider at pick 15

Trades within active NFL QBs
Watson 3 1sts
Rodgers 2 1stz
Stafford 1 1st
Jimmy G 2nd
Matt Ryan 2nd
Sam Darnold 2nd

I'd put Deshaun Watson at top six in the league with upside. 25 years old. Let's do it.

Really? I don't know. He seems like a one-trick pony to me...

Good player but I have just soured on him with all this drama.
I would refer you to Dillon, Corey and Moss, Randy.

watson is again on record saying the Jets are his top choice.....miami his #2

anyone doubt that the jets are willing to break the bank to get him? it's the jets & NYC.......making a splash and having the icon is more important than building the team around him......not that they can't do that, but does anyone really see BB sacrificing the team build for the ONE......after watching BB operate for 20 years, i'm pretty sure he's not the kind of guy that believes there is a 'one' out there......

Well I'm definitely not the talent evaluator or anything but personally I do think he has all the tools to be a top or the top QB in the league.

He's young, can make all the throws, make plays with his legs and plays from the pocket.

But I've only watched maybe three or four games of his this year.

Anyway I'd love to have him. I think he puts the Pats back into the top team conversations.

You're right but one can only hope.

This is different. He seems to think he calls the short in the organization. He is a player and players play, they don't make personnel decisions. He is angry because he was not consulted over GM hiring. WTF? They practically worship him in that city. I guess there is a reason why he has the Jets as his first choice. He will not like it here.

he'll pick the Jets over Miami, if he can, for some pretty simple reasons:

Florida is still a college football state. Minor pro market, minor league sports media, relative to NYC, not as much national relevance

he can go to the Jets.....come in as the savior, make a huge splash, own that town before he ever throws a pass.....all of that parlays into $$$$, and if the Jets don't win, it's on their organization, at least for a few years........not every modern athlete is Tom Brady for 20 years, buying into a system that produces consistent winners with a chance to win it all almost every year.......not saying this a good thing or a bad thing, but the career is short.......the Jets give him the best chance to be the next jersey that every kid nationwide buys

that and the Jets need the same splash.....they need to be relevant again, and this is the quickest way.......if they don't build the team around him, or are unable to because of the cost, it might not be the smartest way, but it's the quickest......

Looks like they hired a guy to make Watson happy....

Who? you say, no idea, but apperently Watson liked him at the Pro Bowl and he has the one thing that Watson was looking for most in a HC.

Caserio will either look like a genius if this works out, or the franchise will be thrown into utter turmoil if this guy can't handle it. I have no idea what Easterbunny ever did to Florio, but Florio never lets a chance to throw a jab at him go by.

So you have to believe that this choice was made with the approval of Watson, so he is staying in Houston.

I don’t get why people think Caserio being the GM means we’ll have no chance.

If anything, it could be an advantage.

I think Caserio would risk alienating the locker room and fanbase instantly. Your franchise QB is annoyed with all all the Patriots disciples running the franchise into the ground so ownership tells him they want his input. Then they don't bother and bring in another Patriots guy and the new Patriots guy then trades him to the Patriots?
