Yeah, it turned out like a punt. But after that int, Brady was talking to Evans on the sideline and I think he was probably trying to tell evans to break off the route when he could see the corner dropping down the line to come on a blitz. but really that’s more of a guess on my part.
Honestly, Evans is a great WR but he seems to lack football IQ. There was instance during the regular season where Brady was angry at him because he didn’t read the blitz correctly and didn’t adjust his route accordingly. So you might have a point

Agree completely that Evans either lacks football smarts or is simply a very physically talented slacker. Maybe both.
Watched all the Tampa games this year and most every game it looks like he runs a couple routes cluelessly. Several post route sideline conversations with Brady.
When his head is in the game, TFB can just toss it to him in coverage and likely he takes the ball from the defender(s). A major physical talent.

As crazy as it sounds and as talented as a WR Evan is, I actually think the Bucs offense would be better without him with Brady at the helm. He had a great season but he’s just not a Brady-like WR. He’s an average route runner at best and questionable IQ. Tampa would be just as better off with Godwin/AB and letting them run slants all day.

He should have retired after the 2018 season and gone on top with a ring. But instead he wants to prove that his TB12 stuff works and play until 45. That and Gisele wants to stick it to Belichick by proving Brady isn't Johnny Foxboro in a different organization...
TommyTroll12, LOL

Mike Evans is Tampa Bay’s second best player. He has been absolutely phenomenal since Thanksgiving. He had one bad drop yesterday. But that deflected interception was 100% not his fault. If Brady hits him in stride, he has a two touchdown, 80 yard game. That popup interception ball was three guys screwing up. Fournette missed the block; Brady shouldn’t have forced it; Evans should have recognized.

The last two weeks have featured Lattimore and Alexander, both really tough matchups, and other guys have benefitted from the defense needing to shadow Evans often.

I expect Kansas City’s suspect secondary and lack of shutdown corner will be good for Evans to dominate like he was before the playoffs.

I can’t disagree more that Brady would be better off without him.

It looked to me that Saint Aaron had a good shot at running it in when passing to his double covered target inside the goal line. He'd probably had enough hard hits from the Bucs defenders and wasn't up for another.
It looked to me like he could have easily run it in, but he panicked and had tunnel vision. The moment was too big for him.

He also missed a wide open Lazard for a td instead opting to force one to Adams.

that sounds crazy

QBR would do something like basically say one INT came on a busted play and was the equivalent of punt and made no difference than taking a sack and punting on the next down. It also would give Brady a lot of brownie points for some of those dimes down field.
Yup, one of the really dumb aspects of QBR is saying that a 20 yard pass where the WR has to lay out to catch it and get no yards after catch is somehow better than the 4 yard swing pass hitting a RB right in stride, leading him behind two blockers, to also net 20 yards. The first is judged to be based on QB skill and the second just a byproduct of the system. It is actually the second that is the thing of Beauty and harder to pull off

can Leftwich actually use some pre snap motion, play action and use the intermediate passing game occasionally? these last 2 games have been terrible. like a completely different offense compared to the end of the season

Nah man Evans is their best player outside of Brady

The pressure clearly affected the throw. Brady had to throw it on his back foot and couldn’t get all the mustard on it.
That throw reminded me of the pick that Bledsoe threw in the SB vs GB that sealed the loss in 96. Drew threw it off his back foot and underthrew Shawn Jefferson, who was in the process of blowing by the DB. The only difference was that Drew didn't have a defender in his face.

Fournette not really smart on his blitz pickup! He should have protect the weak side of the line. There was 3 blocker on the left with the TE and two on the right and the guy went left!

Wow. Kellerman says Rodgers choked! LOL

Kellerman also said that EVERYONE knows that Rodgers is better than Brady.
I normally wouldn't get caught dead (what does that mean?) watching or listening to Kellerman's bs or the racism of Smith, but at times like this their saltiness makes everything taste better.

Green Bay actually lucked out a bit on the kickoff, when the TB KO returner gave himself up at 2:02. The returner strings it out for 2 more seconds and then there would be 3 stoppages of play, not 4. That is something, also, that BB would have made the KO unit aware of.

20 years of great coaching, seen up close, makes us notice tons of little things!
I was texting my sons the same thing about the returner giving himself up at 2:02. I also texted them later about the difference between BB and everyone else. BB makes less mistakes in a season than many HCs make in a game.

Are you saying that Tom was mean to his WR? Why can't he be nice to his WRs like Cant Newton?

These are the kind of things I'd see discussed and illustrated by the experts in the all-22 threads here.

Kind of like the RB in the Atlanta SB.

Huh? Really? Who? Josh Allen? lamar Jackson who can’t throw a lick? The AFC is very weak. The chargers have a promising QB by They’re the chargers. Mayfield? I would still you take the QBs in the NFC. I would take Wilson or the kid from Arizona over Allen or whoever in the afc.

This is a bizarre take. NFC has Rodgers, brady, wilson. Those 3 guys alone are better than anyone after Mahomes in the AFC. That's not taking into account guys like Matt ryan, Goff, Jimmy G who have made Superbowls and would immediately be upper QBs in the AFC

The fact the bills got demolished shows how far away they actually are. It's like when the allen iverson sixers would make it to the finals only to get destroyed by the Lakers because they didn't belong.
