Jacksonville Jaguars have better odds than New England Patriots to win 2022 Super Bowl

My prediction. Or should I say, " my fart in the wind" ?

1. Pick 15 will be used for a defensive stud. NT?

2. He will sign a #1 free agent WR.

3. He will sign a free agent and a former first round pick QB. JG will be too expensive. Sorry Garoppolites.

4. He will draft a QB in the first three rounds.

5. He will use the remaining cap space to sign the necessary depth pieces including Guy and Butler. Hopefully Thuney and Andrews.

6. He will draft a special teams CB out of Orono Maine.

His goal will be to build a monster defense along with a complimentary offense.

I know this will happen for a fact because I have never predicted what BB will do correctly so I'm due.

Don't @ me bro.

Totally different situations. Eli is football royalty and his brother was the reigning MVP and his dad is one of the most connected men in football. That was a power move only that family could do. Elway had baseball to fall back on because he was that talented of a prospect.

Neither situation is remotely similar. Lawrence is football or bust and the league isn't going to get behind him. If the Jags don't draft him, the Jets will. If he tries to force a trade, they can hold him back a year and start screwing with his career.
FWIW, the CBA explicitly states that if a player is drafted by a team and they don't sign him that season, the player automatically re-enters the next draft, but that team cannot draft him a second time. [Edited for clarity.]

Wasn't there some article right before the 2001 season ranking the Patriots as the least likely team in the NFL to win the next Super Bowl?
I was recently watching a game from the first Superbowl season. And the network did a bit where the announcers were supposed to pick the 0-2 team that had the best chance to make the playoffs. The Patriots weren't even on the list even though they were 0-2 at the time.

Jax will have a better QB

Just as good a RB as Harris and White. Robinson had 1400 combined rush/receive yards and 10 TDs.

They already have better WRs. Chark and Shenault are young and a damn good starting tandem moving forward.

Shenault is only 22 and his 2020 rookie season put up 600 yards and 5 TDs.
Chark 24 racked up 706 yards and 5 TDs with musical chair QBs.

If my team sucks I'm not gonna get offended or upset that someone thinks another team might be better. Especially when that team is in a prime position to get their franchise QB and we currently have no QB.

He has more leverage than you think. No team will take him if he doesn't want to play for them as it would be a waste of a high 1st round pick. While Kobe Bryant wasn't the #1 overall pick, he was a high pick and his agent told teams he's only playing for the Lakers. Ditto with Lonzo Ball.
Elway got drafted by a team he basically said he would never play for.

Kobe and Lonzo were not going to be number 1 overalls and they basically convinced the lakers to take them. The teams in front didn’t want them

Think that is just the Trevor effect. Pats have no QB right now. If they get even a serviceable QB I would expect those odds to change.
Probably true and rightfully so.
I have nothing against the Jags, but it'd be funny if the franchise QB turned out to be nothing special.

How did they lose 15 straight with so much talent on offense?

They have money to spend, a "can't miss" first overall pick QB, a boom or bust coach, and a division without any real juggernaut type team. A lot of things would have to go right but as far as the very near future goes they're in better shape.

No quarterback and a piss poor defense. That and they were clearly shooting for the #1 overall pick when you look at their trades and cuts over the last couple of years combined with the fact that Luton and Glennon both started what were “winnable games” even though Minshew was healthy.

Not to nitpick, but do you think the teams "ahead" didn't want Kobe ? Or did they decide to pass on a highschooler, figuring the players chosen were less likely to be a bust / more of a known commodity ? Pretty sure they would have taken Kobe if they were given the player "free"... Lonzo : I'd get that. I would have intentionally avoided him because he isn't worth the baggage.

These all sound reasonable. One thing. Garoppolo's at 25/yr, that isn't bad considering some QBs are at 40?
Also would be wary about sinking too much cash into interior OLinemen.

Well I think if people knew Kobe was going to be what he was, they snag him and don’t care if he wants the Lakers

The Pats went through this in 1987. They drafted Rich Gannon (4th round - pick 98), said they would play him at RB. He refused, and was traded to Minnesota

They wanted him to play S, but your point stands. A team is not going to risk throwing away a high draft pick if a player warns them he will not play for them.

I forgot to say that this bill board material made me rip snorting mad!
