Time for a New Offensive Coordinator

I almost said something yesterday, but let it go. Now this thread. DropKickFlutie must be NEM's kid. There is no other explanation. I don' t know where you get the idea that Josh alone gets to pick all offensive players in the draft. I have never read that anywhere. Accept on here mostly from you.

Josh is a phenomenal OC. Its like the morons calling into the radio station calling for Bill's head. Stop and consider the alternatives, it can be a lot worse.

But enjoy your rants. You seem to love it.
NEM...wow. That's a name I had blocked out lol.

McDaniels made his own bed with the talent here. Busts picks for Sanu and Harry. Don't act like he has no involvement.

.
He did not choose the players. Don't act like he did.

He made his own bed giving the worst player evaluation opinions in the entire league. But yes Belichick makes the picks, he's just getting horrible advice and we have talented scouts leaving the organization in disgust over being over-ruled by Belichick listening to someone who thought Tim Tebow was a 1st round pick.

If you want to blame someone for bad picks, blame BB and the scouting department.

The scouting department's concerns over Nkeal Harry were over-ridden because he 'aced' his Foxboro workout with McDaniels. So we have upset scouts bailing ship.
Belichick makes the picks but he's getting terrible advice in the room. We once drafted Laurence Maroney with a 1st rounder because McDaniels' kid brother coached him in Minnesota, drafted him over heated Patriot scout concerns. Get rid of the entire John Carroll cabal of horrible talent evaluators.

I would be shocked if Josh didn’t take the LAC job. Talented young QB already present, overall mostly decent roster. Chance to show your stuff against KC twice a year. Plus obviously you get to live in southern California weather. A lot of their issues this year were due to coaching. It seems like his dream job. I do wonder how he would be replaced - O’Shea seems like the most obvious guy but BOB is out there still too, or maybe a guy already in house.
I would be far more shocked if they offered him the job. It would be the best thing to happen to us since the second Rams SuperBowl. I am terrified that if he sticks ariound long enough Kraft will hand him the HC job when Bill leaves. It would take us at least 5 years to recover from two or three years of him as coach/GM.

Agree 100% . But why would SD take him when Daboll or EricB are much more attractive HC candidates. I fear we'll be stuck with him and absolutely terrified we will burn our 1st round pick on another offensive draft bust.

Why would the Suns take Deandre Ayton instead of Luka Doncic at #1? Stupid teams do stupid things. I'm not saying it's likely, just that it's possible. Bill's excuse for all the recent busts in the first round was that he was being aggressive, trying to get weapons for Brady. So Sony, Harry and Sanu were somehow Brady's fault, I guess. So with Brady gone and probably no franchise type QB at #15 I would not be shocked to see him go defense.

aggresive? Why didn’t he just draft better college talents like chubb and Brown, or trade for Emanuel Sanders Instead of SaNO

When Josh is gone, we'll - you'll - miss him. One of Bill's kids will take the job, and there won't even be the right number of players on the field.

Get this bum out of here. Although there are 10 other much better candidates for HC before McDaniels. BrianD in Buffalo, EricB in KC, etc. But I'd be thrilled if McDaniels left to go ruin some other franchise.

.
He is incapable of committing to the run.

Granted, most HC's and OC's in the league are likewise hypnotized by the pass, and their dropping the QB back in situations where merely running it into the line would have clinched it resulted in lots of Patriots victories.

I don't mind other teams being stupid but I do not want to be victimized by it ourselves.

Weis ran the ball when the situation demanded it. That made him successful.

Yes. Multiple games where Damien Harris was red hot in the first quarter then no carries later.

As much as I would like to blame the offense's woes on McDaniels, I missed the part where he picks the groceries.

Having said that, picking a receiver and running back in the first round sure was a departure and very un-Belichikean.
My take is this was a last ditch over-reach to wring one more SB out of the Brady Era (Brown, Sanu, Michele, Harry and cap hell).
It didn't work out, but it was worth a shot, and the fallout was this and future rebuilding years.

McDaniels isn't terrible calling a game plan when he has Hall of fame QBs, TEs, and WRs, and an elite OLine. But that's only part of the job. He participates in player evaluation, draft opinions, and player development. He's absolutely horrible at these 3. He made his own bed the last 8 years. We need a new OC to turn things around. Chad O'Shea or Bill O'Brien should be available

I think we've had enough coaching staff turnover w/o having to ditch the OC.

You obviously disagree.
Ever since I've been on this board people have complained about the offensive coordinator from Weis and O'Brien, to McDaniels.
It's the convenient out. Kinda like giving the QB all the credit/blame for wins and losses.
NEM was the poster boy. He seriously believed he could be a better OC than Charlie Weis.

Please list which multiple games you are referring to so I can show you are full of crap.

Keep digging a massive hole for yourself trying to act like McDaniels isn't completely exposed without Tom Brady and led a horrible offense not only this season, but last year from Oct-Dec with the GOAT.
