Can we finally stop pretending that Cam is good?

Well yes but he also has or at least had the most rushing TD's for a QB so whats your point? We now his throwing isn't the strong point and his running has to try and make up for it.

He had 24 passing tds just two years ago and 35 in his mvp year. It's not like the guy could never throw.

Something is wrong with him, maybe his shoulder really is shot

He gets to pats stadium at 4:30am.... leaves at 11:30.....spends all day on playbook, working out, and practicing.....and had 32 yards passing. Yeah! There’s a problem!!!! His shoulder is done and mentally he’s shot.....sad but it’s over

He says he get get up at 4:20. I'm 99.9% that's code that he wakes and bakes since MA had legal weed. Why say that specific time?

I feel bad for the guy. Not seeing your kids for three months, and “submitting“ yourself the best that anyone can but still not having anything to show for it. The Cam Newton experience in New England could not have been worse for both parties.

It's an absolute sickening Disgrace that he tied Grogan's record.
What I don't get is why the Pats felt the need to feed the ball to Newton. When the team was down by the goal line they repeatedly used QB runs. If they didn't have the confidence to throw the ball (who could blame them) then why not hand it to the RBs? It cost them in the Seattle game.

Grogan and Newton each played 14 games and these are their numbers;

Player-Atts-Yds-Yds/Att-Atts/G
Grogan - 60 - 397 - 6.6 - 4.3
Newton - 126 - 513 - 4.1 - 9

Cam has run the ball more than twice as much with slightly more than half as many yards per attempt. Is it possible that the team did this because they wanted to give Cam the record.

I feel bad for Cam Newton actually. Idk if he's even backup QB material anymore. I think he's just done. He can't throw the ball anymore.

I mean I think my and everyone's hope was he comes in, throws 20 tds maybe 10 interceptions looks like he's at least decent and can be a bridge. But he doesn't even look like he belongs on an NFL field

Kinda crazy how Cam Newton is washed up at 32 and Brady is still putting up numbers at 43.

Cam has lost a step.
His throwing motion looks strange.
He's terribly inaccurate with his passes
He doesn't seem to read defenses well, if at all.
His pocket awareness leaves a lot to be desired.
He doesn't protect the ball when he runs.
Other than that he's okay.

Brady had a head start as a QB and his work ethic is unmatched.
Bradys in a league of his own regarding longevity. And that’s the life of a dual threat qb, the shelf life is normally shorter and once one aspect of his game goes (in this case the shoulder) he’s pretty much done.

I composed a post expressing positive feelings for Cam after week 3 and someone took me to task for it after week 7-8.
(I forget which thread and which poster. That is not important) At that time I gave him credit for playing well despite learning a new play book
and working with some young receivers. He missed some time to comply with Covid regulations and never really returned so to speak.
Apparently he IS washed up.

I think Brady is also in a league of his own regarding reading defenses, though I think his age has had an impact there.

That graph is not accurate if it is implying that is game to game progression. He has been terrible but that chart blows.

Cam has them ranked second to last in pass attempts, third to last in passing yards, dead last in passing TD's, second to last in Interception percentage and fourth worst in QB Rating... that's not weapons.

He's had two surgeries on the shoulder of his throwing arm, and was never a cerebral QB or accurate to begin with. It's safe to say QB is the biggest position of need on this team.

Agreed...it's either his shoulder or COVID brain fog or both.

Cam Newton 2020 may go down as the worst quarterbacking performance of all time in NE - at least since 1990. I looked at the stats since 1990...Marc Wilson/Tommy Hodson didn't have passing #s as bad as Newton. they sucked, but I think Newton has been worse. High Mullen was better than Newton.

The worst thing about Newton is Belichick must actually believe he's worth trotting out there every week. Or that he believes Stidham is a worse option.
