You think 5/7 for 27 yards and 2 sacks in garbage time is good? I disagree.

I also said he threw 3 passes against the chargers not completed 3.
You can’t blame him for those sacks. He handle pressure pretty well actually.

But you are going in circles. You want the young player to prove he gives us the best chance to win without giving him any opportunity to play.
We literally have the worst qb in the nfl playing. The chance an unknown unproven guy would turn out to give us a better chance to win is pretty high, regardless of who the unproven guy is.
By your approach young players would never play.
Except Stidham isn't really "unknown". He was the presumed starter after Brady left - maybe by default - he entered camp as #1 and left camp as the #3 guy. That right there made me hop off the Stid bandwagon. He has had opportunities to play - and impressed in none of them. Bill is refusing to give him the job and he's seen a lot more of Stid than we have.

Why would we need to see more of a guy like that? It's not about showcasing to the fans. Fans don't make decisions. Coaches do. Brady climbed the QB ladder really quickly and he didn't get showcased to us on TV. I don't remember many of us begging to give Brady a chance.

No wasn’t the “presumed starter” there is no such thing.
If that were the case it would mean he far far exceeded expectations last year. As it was he was on the roster when Brady left and you announced him.
He didn’t enter camp as #1, they signed a 10 year veteran former MVP. Again only in your imagination was it his job to lose.
To win it as a second year player with no preseason games would have been the longest of long shots. Then he was injured.

He need to play to be evaluated. It’s as simple as that. Again with what you consider opportunity would mean they should gave cut him on draft day.

Stidham was the better QB the first 2-3 days of camp then he got injured and Bill never gave him reps after that. They were report they were annoyed with him. Hoyer was playing great in TC and Bill rewarded him. The #3 spot was more like a message from Bill to Stidham like when Bill cut the snaps of Wino this year because if Stidham was that bad he wouldn’t have put him back as backup after hoyer performance in KC (which was better than 3 or 4 Cam games this year), he would have stayed the #3.

I don't even think it was necessarily that. I think Bill thought Hoyer was a much safer back up. He has experience in both the Patriots system and as a starter in the league. I think Bill doesn't like to put young players in a place where they are set up for failure. Coming into games without proper preparation, etc. So Bill keeps a veteran qb on the roster for that eventuality. Hoyer crapped the bed and they decided it just to go with Stidham as the backup the rest of the year regardless.

Sb1 said in the week 14 thread that he didn’t mind Haskins. Talk about credibility. The guy thinks that Stidham can’t play but is ok with Haskins. Don’t lose energy with those guys.

Just stop. You may end up being right, but Stidham looked really good against the Chargers, and Jimmy looked really good against the Chiefs. Everything else you bring up is just silly. Stick with the he hasn't replaced Cam yet as your story and you at least have a little credibility.
Stidham completed 2 passes vs the Chargers. One of them was to a wide open receiver who didn’t have a defender within 5 yards of him. As shown here. The other was a glorified dump off. That’s his bright moment. 2 passes. Against a team that was blown out, that Cam already ran for 2 TD’s on and threw for another. In garbage

Meanwhile Jimmy’s first pass vs the Chiefs was a competition to Edelman in the middle of the field with tight coverage and at least 3 guys within 5 feet. His TD pass was a slant in coverage to Gronk.

It’s really not the same. Not even worth comparing. Especially when we have a much larger sample size of Stidham beyond 2 throws in garbage time against a bottom 5 team.

I can agree with that but I thought Bill went out of his way with Cam. Making excuses for him in press conferences. What’s bugs me is that in never wanted to treat Brady a little bit different but I think that what he does with Cam.

I think Bill has to coach Cam that way because he is thin skinned. He was told I am sure by the Carolina folks that he would lose him if he called him out at all. Brady is a different animal. He is motivated by being doubted that is how he became the GOAT.

Yet it was clear at the end that it was not the case anymore. And he didn’t adapt and didn’t want to budge an inch. The last 2-3 years Bills ego put us in this situation because it is my belief that if he made Brady happy, Brady would have stayed and for cheaper than 25 mil and probably Gronk would have stayed too. I don’t think he really appreciated being traded to the Lions after all he has done for the patriots.

It rubs me the wrong way that he wanted to shop Gronk out of town and didn’t change a little bit his way to interact with Brady but that he has no problem doing it for Cam.

Aaron Rodgers first 2 seasons. 5 games.
15/31 for 111 0 td 1 pick sacked 6 times.
He clearly blatantly digressed from the first year to the second because on year 2 with a substantial opportunity of 15 passes he only completed 6 for 46 yards. Obviously he should have been out of the league because everyone saw what he could do and there was no need to see any more.
Stupid packers.

Of course the receiver is open because as all analysts pointed out Stidham looked off the safety.

This is really different than Stidham throwing 4 INTs 3 of which were pick-6's, in his first 27 throws.

Yeah. When Bill benched Butler in the SB vs the Eagles when Brady and Gronk were having the games of their lives, both of them lost trust and respect for Bill. That is why neither showed up for OTAs in 2018 and also why Bill tried to trade Gronk. He knew he lost him. It is a real shame. But that decision really cost Bill in a myriad of ways. He hates to be questioned which is probably why he has become Cam's publicist because Cam has zero clout to question him despite the putrid roster he has to work with.

Gronk maybe, but Gronk was shot. 2018 was a tough go for him and he looked done. The year off did him well. Not surprised he went to Tampa as he’s always been a Brady guy. But he’s benefitting from the fact that he’s not being treated like Gronk anymore

To be honest I’m not sure there was much beyond resign Brown and promise to only go after receivers that would have kept Brady

Haskins is a much better QB than Stidham. Was way better in college too.

Now there's a guy that actually does have upside that is worth starting over Cam to see what he's got.

I have always been a strong Belichick supporter and have thought that he shared, 50/50, the credit with Brady for bringing the Pats twenty years of success. His behavior this year has begun to make me doubt my original position. However, it's still too early to make any final judgment. Next year should tell us whether he truly is the GOAT coach, or whether he road Brady's coattails. And I don't mean that I expect New England to be playing in the Super Bowl, but that the team should have a winning record and that the last game in December should be meaningful.

Now you're comparing Stidham to Rodgers. LOL.

Pats win maybe 4 games tops this year with an average coach and this roster. They win 0-1 games with a bad coach.

No I am comparing the sample size you think is sufficient.
