Bench Newton!

You bench someone if you think the guy behind him is better. Bill doesn't think that. We don't have two potential starter qualitity QB's on the bench. We have a guy who sucks and a guy who we drafted a year ago at a point where you really don't see many good QB's develop from but kicked the tires on for two years.

I kind of wonder if continuing to start Newton is about keeping the rest of the players motivated. He’s clearly a leader and liked by his teammates. Bill is still coaching and trying to improve the rest of the roster and develop a winning culture.

Maybe Belichick insisting on starting Cam indicates that he has finally decided to tank. Last year, two teams with records of 6-10 occupied draft positions 9 and 10. The year before, four teams with that record held positions 8 through 11. We might pick up a pretty good quarterback prospect at number 8 or 9.

Doesn’t make it right though. Bill has been wrong plenty of time. And in my opinion he is wrong now.

Yup. It's like Belichick will never admit it. Get the next Richard Seymour/Chandler Jones/Hightower in the draft but keep the team playing hard and developing while keeping Cam as QB. That and Stidham hasn't shown potential to stick. Either he isn't the hardest worker as a QB needs to be or he has blind spots as an INT machine that can't be fixed.

Annnnnnnnd, the tank talk starts again...

The tank talk should have ended when they won four of their last five games.

No playoff run this year? We're all gonna Di-I-I-I-IE!!!! <Waxy howls in disconsolate misery> Betcha didn't know I'm disconsolate, huh? :p

Cam is not the answer.. why play him and be stubborn about it.. we are not making the playoffs .. how do you decide stidham is so bad based on second team reps. And the he looked much better than cam yesterday in the limited time he was there. The throw to asiasi was actually good. If there was a veteran TE they would have caught it... And maybe the stats look different..

But Bb stubbornness really stumps me. The only reason I see Book playing cam is he might have given a word that he will ensure cam gets all other bonuses because of the low base salary. No other logic comes to my mind. And bill is known for treating veteran players well.

Enough of putting sridhar in the doghouse. Let us know how good/ bad he is on game day. What do we get by playing newton?

We are not going to win with newton...

Yup. That's why I said next week. I hope this is it!
No not next week....or the week after... what more does BB have to see.... guy can’t throw....run much.... can’t make decisions ....please BB put away your pride and mule behavior and put Stidham in...if he struggles so be it.... give him a chance... we already know Sham will struggle

Great post.....also thought Stid looked decent in his time in there once again playing from way behind after cam lit up another dumpster fire!!’

Too late to tank....team will select middle of round or probably later.... and BB will trade that pick for a second and a third anyways

I’m deeply skeptical about Stidham but at this stage it they should give him his shot. That’s three horrible games in a row from Cam.

Stidham the team was high on. What gives?

I’m sure the Calgary Stampeders will be happy to have Stid on their roster next year.

That pick 6 on the attempted screen pass is as bad as it gets from the QB position. He clearly should have been pulled after that.
If it was Stidham who would have thrown that pick you wouldn’t see the end of it.
