Yeah we should definitely take Belichick's word for it that Brady isn't the best of all time. It's not like he has any bias against Tom.

And if BB still really believes that, he’s an assclown. I doubt he does, though. Even if he wouldn’t say it out loud. With how the 2001 team started and how the 2002 team ended, one could easily make the argument that he probably would have gotten **** canned after the ‘02 season if Brady hadn’t have come in and saved his bacon in ‘01. The rest is history. He’s the best player BB ever coached at the most important position in the game.

Actually, he said it quite casually at the 2018 super bowl media day. No animosity whatsoever in his response. I'll take the word over the greatest coach who happened to coach both players over a couple of internet morons.

Triggered? Does Bill strike you as the kind of guy who would heap the GOAT praise on a player he’s currently coaching? And no, he will still not give you permission to get spit roasted by he and Steve for coming to his defense on here. You can answer that truthfully.

Oh, and uh, friendly reminder that Bill is still a sub-.500 lifetime head coach without Brady.

Triggered? It wasn't a shot at Brady, but a comment on an ex-player...

And Brady is a whole 2 games ahead of Bill this year with all the talent that he wanted...don't worry, though. The Bucs will beat the Falcons, Vikings, and Eagles.

I don’t think anyone who has watched the Patriots would expect Bill to rank Brady as the best he ever coached while he was still coaching him. I think he’d have a different answer today.

You were definitely triggered. Hence the “two morons” comment. And I believe I’ve figured out why, but we won’t go there. Instead I’ll pose you a fun question. Question time! It’s going to be a real hoot! Yes or no - do you really believe that, comparing positions and overall body of work, that Bill really considers Taylor the best player he’s ever coached over Brady? No need to expand. Just give me a yes or a no.

Well, since Bill said it, and said it rather casually without even mentioning Brady, I think he considers LT to be the greatest player he's ever coached. I think if you were to ask him he would consider Brady to be his most accomplished player.

Ah, so Bill seems like the kind of guy that’s going to call a current player of his the best he’s ever coached? The QB who made it a point to meet with him every week so they can break down defenses together? Or do you think he’s just some kind of idiot who would consider a cokehead LB (albeit a great one) to be a better player to coach than the most prepared player of all time and the GOAT at the most important position on the field, when preparation is HUGE to Bill? Those are really the only two ways I can see why he’d say that, but I’m open to suggestions for other options. Twist into that pretzel for me.

I don't know what to tell you. I am merely repeating what he said. His words: "LT is certainly the greatest player I've ever coached." Want me to text him to find out for sure?

Nah. You don’t have to. He probably blocked your number anyway. Your inability to answer a simple yes or no question without elaborating and then, ultimately, giving a non-answer was a dead giveaway. Since we’re reminiscing about old Bill quotes, could you remind me of what he said about players vs coaches again?

Sounds like to me you're in denial over what the one guy who knows more about what those two men (LT and Brady) did on the field said...

Bill would never, ever, give those props to a player he still coached. According to ex players he wouldn’t even say a kind word about Brady’s play in meetings after a win.

He's said plenty of nice things about Brady while he coached him. I heard him say "there's no other QB in the game I'd rather have." besides, he wasn't talking about Brady. He was talking about LT. And it wasn't a shot at Brady.

LT was obviously a great player who at his peak was probably the most dominant defensive player I have ever seen. Had a relatively short period of dominance (8 or so years) but played in an era where his pass rushing skills and brutal hits were optimized and he certainly was an important player on the Giants. Fairly or not he plays a position that has so much less impact on winning than a QB does that I would never compare him to someone like Brady. A top QB in this era is arguably worth nearly as much as an entire defensive unit let alone one player regardless of how good they are. No one would have ever taken JJ Watt and whoever the Texans QB was in a straight up trade for Brady and JJ at his peak was in the same breath as LT.

The Giants won a SB with Jeff Hostetler at QB. But they did have LT and Belichick's HoF game plan.

The funny thing is that the Bradyites on this thread don't realize that Brady doesn't give AF about Patriots fans...he just went to whatever team can help him win another ring.

I don’t know why I’m responding to you but you do know the guy wanted a 2 year contract right so he wanted to stay. After that was he supposed to go to the Jets so people say he didn’t leave to win. lol c

I mean, it’s pretty simple. If a defense shows you that same Cover-2 Robber look, hit them hard with the ground game and get Jones going downhill. If you just can’t control yourself and want to throw the ball against that, get Evans and Brown/Godwin 7, 8, or 9-routes then hit either the remaining receiver or one of the TEs down the seam (which should be wide open as the safeties retreat toward the boundary and take the deepest receiver). Rinse and repeat until you have them in Cover-1 or a zone. If it’s the former, go deep. If it’s the latter, work underneath. But, at least IMO, the first order of business is to get the ground game established and at least make it something the defense needs to respect.

Or they can go long on every play till it works

Signed the idiot coach

Sure, but LT played in a much different era when QBs were important but certainly not at the level they are today...
