Extend Newton

Newton pulled a win away from the jaws of some very poor officiating!

it is hard to win in the nfl! It is even harder to beat an opponent and the officials!

Maybe the nfl should consider not using Jets employees as refs for patriots games.

At this point you might as well resign Cam. His value has to be awful now so this is probably as cheap as you can get him. Keep him on in case you can’t find anybody or need someone to start a few games to get a young guy ready

I have a feeling Cam will be our QB in 2021 but not 2022

As a percent of cap space, isn’t the collective amount we pay our qb’s among the lowest in the nfl?

last time I looked, you can’t buy a Bugatti for the price of a Kia!

When you win a game, against a playoff caliber team, with your QB throwing for 80 yards on 9 completions & 2 picks, you know the rest of your team is pretty good & you are a QB away from being a contender.

This team could complete for the Super Bowl if they had Jimmy G, or Matt Cassell, for that matter.

Cam is horrible. Can't read a defense, doesn't make adjustments. Bad throwing mechanics, over throws his wrs, holds the ball too long. I hope we can snatch up Zach Wilson or Kyle Trask this coming draft!

Finding good quarterbacks is NOT easy. If Newton's health stays good, NE definitely needs to heavily consider it. I'm all in.
I don’t know how any one can watch these games and say such things. If this team had a QB as good as Matt Cassell, they’d be a Super Bowl contender. Cam is a disaster. I seriously doubt he’s better than Hoyer. Never in my life have I seen a team win a game against a good team with a QB throwing for 80 yards, 2 picks and no TDs. Cam is killing this team.

And yet he starts and Stid and Hoyer won’t. Tells you all you need to know about those two.

It'd be 20-20 and going to overtime

If the refs made the right non call it's 21-17 or 21-20

If my aunt had nuts, she'd be my uncle

The "what if" game is dull
no, it'd 20-17 cards.

This isn't the first time Cams choked in a clutch moment, He makes such incredibly poor choices.

... Cassel inherited the 2007 offense. In the past 20 years, this offense is the furthest away that the Patriots have been from an offense even close to that. It's not an apple's to apple's comparison.

We saw wha Hoyer did. He got benched. We saw what Stidham did in every game he played. Nobody on the coaching staff wants him to have a shot.

The reality is, there is no guarantee we will find an improvement over Cam. Say Stafford or Dak comes on the market. We are going to have to pay 35-40 million for them and we aren't going to be their first choice. They are going to want to be on a clear win now team. That could be the Sainst without Brees or Colts without Rivers or hell if Brady hates this experience the Bucs. So it's very likely, we are looking to hope a draft pick pans out. In which case, keeping Cam would likely be the best stopgap option.

So it only makes sense to stick with him and find out how good a bridge QB he can be going forward, hopefully with a much better offense around him next year. No point playing Stid as some want. There’s no upside to that.

My re-sign him on the cheap as a backup / last resort is looking pretty favorable right now haha. I would welcome Jimmy G back for the right price with someone like Cam backing him up, could be a realistic / afflordable combo. Jimmy WOULD perform well here when healthy. But, if we do go the JG route you gotta make sure you have a backup that can give your team a shot, you know Cam will do that.

Did you see the last game in which Hoyer played? There’s a clear reason why he’s the #3.
