My Dad always says, when a team is losing, the coaches closely watch the film to see what players are still competing and want to be around next year, and which ones are quitting and playing themselves off the team. I remember watching the America’s Game about the 1992 Cowboys, and Michael Irvin told Jimmy Johnson in 1989 that lots of guys just showed up to collect a paycheck and had no interest in competing

that was a long time ago, but i dont remember them be as inept

I remember Marc Wilson getting afraid of the pass rush and running straight backwards until the defense caught up to him for about a 35 yard sack. They were extremely inept.

Defense was 1st in the NFL in DVOA last year. Dead last in 2020 to this point.
