This forum is so divided, some think we’re one of the worst versions of the Patriots that’s ever existed, others think we’re a few pieces/additions from being a pretty good team. Which is it??

Somewhere in the middle they can win any game but they can lose any game as well

Pretty simple test. Name 3-4 pieces we could add right now that make this team a contender. And if one is QB you have to factor in that it's flying blind

We were competetive against the Seahawks, Chiefs, and Bills. It doesn't mean anything. We can look okay but we aren't winning. One thing about the Ravens is they have speed. One thing we lack. Speed.

I don't know about this competitive talk. This is the NFL. You're supposed to be competitive.

On the other hand, I always think of the 2-14 1982 Ron Erhardt Patriots. They were competitive in many games, lost one game by 28, another by 14, but every other game was 10 points or less, and 9 games were lost by an average of 3 points. It was a pretty talented team, those players were the heart of the 85 Super Bowl team, so you never know.

By the way, they landed the #1 pick in the draft, and chose Ken Sims.

Hard to say. His two best performances came against a historically bad passing defense and the #1 pick that's giving teams wins. Serviceable, definitely. Not sure he's lighting up any decent defense.

For me personally I'm happy having him on our team. I hope he stays. Love the guy.

I was extremely high on Cam going into this year. He's clearly regressed as a passer and he needs talent to offset that. The thing with Cam is that he used to be a big time playmaker who couldn't create plays without needing worldclass talent. That is gone. He's doing his best, but he's not where he was even in 2018

Meanwhile he's turning Jakobie Myers into an MVP candidate.

Well, there's not many QB's that could light up a good defense with this offense.. I think Cam's doing about as good a job as one could ask thus far on a team where your only 2 most reliable WR"s thus far are Myers and Byrd, and you have literally nothing at TE.
