As a run first team, having a TE who can block is more important than having a TE who only catches the ball. Jordan Thomas can do both.. Yes, he's a JAG, but he's healthy and that's important. He may not last long, we'll have to see..

What I'm learning here is that nobody understands that practice squad protection only applies starting at 4 PM on Tuesday. McLaughlin has been protected by the Vikings most (all?) weeks, but each week there has been a window from Monday morning through Tuesday at 4 when they can't stop him from signing elsewhere.
