After the niners game, covid, opt outs...I think it's time to...

And just rebuild. In 2-3 years, we will be competitive again.

Sell everything. Except JC and Jon Jones.

Trade Gilmore to the highest bidder
Ask White what he wants to do (IR, trade, etc.)
Ask Edelman what he wants to do (IR, trade, etc.)
I'm a big fan of all those guys, Edelman in particular but I agree.

Pats should be sellers this year.

Bye Bye Gilmore & Thuney

Trade Gilmore and Thuney. If Edelman can get us a high pick, let him go chase another title, he deserves it.

This is super unscientific, but Titans fans really want Gilmore while nobody's fans are talking about trading for Thuney right now.

I'm now reluctantly in the seller camp after 2 execrable performances. Hate to lose Gilmore. I'm a fan of his play and him as a person.
Thuney is a different story as he's gone anyhow, but I don't see any desperate teams ready to pay a decent draft pick for the Thune. We get a much delayed 2022 3rd when he walks next year.

The only team I could see having an interest (and cap space) for Thuney might be Miami. Adding an AP lineman to this team could make an immediate impact. But it would mostly be a salary dump in exchange for a third round pick I'd assume.

If we lose to buffalo, id see what we can get for thuney. Not sure what our chances of resigning him are but they dont seem great.

Just thinking out loud here.

If the Pats end up 6-10 with Cam then they're clearly in the "next QB" mode. A (cheap) young QB needs the best Oline possible. So to trade Thuney makes little sense to me.

I'm standing pat... there are going to be teams needing to purge salary next season... there will be a bonus crop of free agents available... If NE has all that roll over cap space available, we should be able to restock in a couple important spots ... OL, TE, LB, 1&3tDL...

If youre that confident he will resign then sure. I just dont have a good feeling about it, reports were they were trying to extend him after the tag and they didn’t go very far.

Why isn't "trade for a QB" an option, it's the biggest need position on the team?

I could see them trading older valuable assets like Gilmore or Thuney, just don't like or envision the trade to Titans part. We'll have to play these players for the next few years... look to the NFC.

Cam sucks, Stidham can possibly develop into something, maybe not... but he isn't a QB right now. This is a developmental and reloading year, forget the playoffs because they don't have a QB.

With a QB this is an instant playoff team, but you don't find these guys midseason and they won't find one before they're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It doesn't mean I wouldn't immediately take Matt Ryan for next year though...

Do you think we are gonna resign Thuney? I didn’t see that happening, so a trade would make sense IF they got a decent haul. If not, wait out the comp pick.

If Belichick decides they're truly "on to 2021," then it may be worth taking something equal to the comp pick or even a little lower, just to roll over ~$8 million more in cap room.

Thuney is worth a 1st and 4th anything less then that is a giveaway

#4 best guard in the NFL who can play all 5 spots on the o-line.

I would be more than happy to tag him again next year.

I just think having the best offensive line in place for a young QB is a must.

You get what you can. Pats have no leverage, and teams know that. You get what you can, or you get nothing when he walks in the offseason. I’d take a 2nd and a 3rd. Knowing Belichick’s trade history, we’d be lucky to get a 3rd for Thuney and a 3rd for Gilmore. Unfortunately Belichick is horrible at these kind of trades.
