We have the worst offensive skill talent in the league, and only the JETS are close. We haven’t drafted a quality WR or TE in a decade. We don’t have Brady now to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

Whether we like it or not we aren’t contenders right now and it won’t be a quick fix.

At the top of the list we need our future QB. It doesn’t look like he’s on our roster. Where do we find him? Teams typically don’t trade quality QBs so we’ll likely need to draft one. Even then it’ll take a few years to know what you got. We’ve seen teams play the QB carousel for years. If the rumours that the 49ers aren’t keen on keeping Jimmy G then maybe that is a possibility.

We need playmakers plain and simple. We need at minimum 2 quality WRs added to our roster. Draft multiple, trade, Free agency...we need skill and speed. At TE throw the 2 rookies in and let’s see what they can do. If neither develop we gotta do the same as WR; draft, free agency, trade...

This team is rebuilding. The older guys like Edelman, the McCourty’s, Gilmore, Hightower, Chung, will all be retired or gone before we turn the corner. Gather as many picks as we can and get some skill on this team. And pray we somehow hit on our QB of the future.
Agree with this completely. Especially the part about the future QB. Without the QB, we are just spinning our wheels.

Harris is running great. Maybe a heavy dose of 40 runs per game the next couple weeks ?

.

At this point I’d rather see an all runs game if it means I dont have to see Cam Newton throw a football again in a Patriot uniform. He was that unwatchable.
Agree and agree. This passing attack is extremely limited and we should be pounding the rock with our stable of backs. 1950's football. What other choice do we have?

Not sure where the "12 or fewer points in 4 out of 6 games" statistic in the thread title and original post comes from.
The offense scored 21, 23 and 29 points in the first three games.

That being said, yes, the offense has been horrible in the last three games.
An output of 10, 12 and six points is going to net you three losses 99.9 times out of 100.

Pats turning into the new red sox with these scores

As has been mentioned in the past those things are related. If you have an offense that can't stay on the field there's more of a chance that you'll have a defense that can't get off the field.

One defender who stuck out like a sore thumb yesterday was Jason McCourty. He was horrible.
True statement but . . . tough. Suck it up and play. Jets (0-7) D played well yesterday, sucked it up to keep it a one score game at all times and their offense is probably worse than the Pats' offense.

Jason had a lot of company. It was a total team effort. They got beaten up and were outclassed from top to bottom.

Just the fact that you said that the Jets offense is "probably" worse is enough to scare any Pats fan. They're worse but not by a lot.

We complained about the Patriots skill players last year WITH BRADY, and they certainly didn't get any better. I would not expect them to be any better with Cam Newton.

As for the defense, even they were getting gashed at the end of least year, and then you consider the opt outs and it's not that crazy to think the not worthy of being in the top half of the league either.

Yes, that is scary, YIKES.

Just think, a year ago at this time the Pats put out a Halloween video regarding their Boogeymen nickname and how invincible they were. A lot can change in a year.

This is a jarring stat for certain... I'd expect it if it were Stidham or Hoyer. It's kind of inexcusable when it's Cam and he's a dual threat QB. Where's the offensive creativity?

There is little room for creativity when there are no receiving threats. With no receiving threats, 3 defenders are in coverage, one spies Cam, and the rest are free to attack.

We still have a good running OLine and running RBs. Maybe run 45 times a game now ??

I'm totally fine with the Pats letting Brady go IF there was a great succession plan in place. He's 43 and we are in uncharted territory, etc. - so I totally get that the team was not interested in him anymore. However, I assumed that Bill evaluated Stidham and Newton and one of them was going to do just fine. It's been nothing but a train wreck though. So like many others it infuriates me to see him doing so well on another club.

Before we get all misty-eyed about other "recent" offenses with Sad Tom, let's not forget last season's offense with the quarterback who knows all the answers to the test averaged a MIGHTY 17.8 ppg over the last 8 games. I said OFFENSE (that stat does not include 2 defensive TDs vs Cin). And I would really love to take out the 2 garbage time TDs vs Houston and the 2 or 3 trick play touchdowns they had in that span. If you take out those TDs, the Pats are probably a 16 ppg offense over the last 8 with Brady. This year is ****ing terrible, but so was last year's offense after they stopped playing Framingham State and Curry.

There is still time to get in the Lawrence sweepstakes.

The Pats need to lay down vs the Jets giving them 2 wins

That’ll never happen. Bill Belichick doesn’t tank, bro!!!!

I love the Pats, but I definitely want to see Tom do well. I’m glad he’s got great stats and team success at this point. In fact, if the Pats don’t make the playoffs (I know, queue Jim Mora) I’d like to see Tampa win it.
