OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

That's easily the worst mistake I've seen Brady make in his entire career. I'm sure he misses the top-tier NE coaching staff.

Weird

I was going to post that Brady had impeccable game awareness would never forget how many timeouts were remaining like Hoyer, but I didnt.

Then last night happens with Brady missing 3rd down.

It appeared that Gronk hurt his shoulder, but he came back in the game.

Khalil Mack abused that OL last night. A guy like that Belichick usually has had a plan to negate or minimize.

Arians has no plan. Just 5 OL and maybe a TE and dropback and chuck it.

The young man will learn. I hope to see him do this to Mack down the road.

Arians ****ty vertical offense doesn't help -- especially in the 2min situation they were in at the end -- but with like 39 seconds left you gotta take the easier throw for a first down instead of banging a low percentage throw down the seam:

Especially if you only need like another 15 yards for a fg after.

His LT sucks and will probably get Brady killed. His RT is a rookie who has actually played very well given the fact that he is a rookie.

Ok, I haven’t watched every play this year. Wirfs is big, but plays too tall, doesn’t get leverage and doesn’t move well enough laterally. At best he’s a poor man’s Matt Light. He is better than the LT though. Mack is a speed rusher but he got a lot of pressure by just bull rushing Wirfs. Mack should have been chipped all night.

I don’t know if the Bears started moving Mack around or if Brady just pissed him off when he got in Mack’s face after being hit the first time but he was unstoppable that second half. He was generating a pass rush on nearly every drop back and was dominating both of Tampa’s tackles. Another reason why Arians “always chuck it deep” offense is so stupid. What’s made Brady so effective for two decades is he is able to quickly go through his reads and get rid of the ball. Hanging back there looking for Evans thirty yards down the sideline or Gronk deep in the seam on every play makes him a sitting duck.

Yeah, chip him, double him, rotate on him, run at him.

These are the little things the Bucs coaching staff doesn't do. How do you not have someone chipping Mack? Have you not watched Bears film?

Last night Khalil Mack = Michael Strahan

Brady got abused

I really thought after the Chargers game that the staff was merging the two styles, but I see they went back to the vertical stuff last night. That's why Arians is a stupid coach... he just does what he does, no adjustments.

Scotty Miller was supposed to be TB12's next Welker/Edelman but it seems he has disappeared.

Miller was playing injured, same as Evans. Gronk got up limping pretty bad after that 20+ yard play and looked a combination of out of shape and injured.

The announcer also said at one point that Wirfs was "playing on one leg" whatever TF that means. I guess he got injured too.

Looks like Gonk made a huge mistake returning to play for Arians. 5 games in and Rob is barely a blip on the radar with zero TDs.

Ironic that playing for BB the hard *** is where Gonk appeared to have the most fun.

More specifically Scar- his specialty was focusing on the most disruptive DL player and mess him up with elaborate blocking schemes that rotated every snap. That along with the high IQ linemen that BB likes to draft, would have had a different player(s) block Mack every snap, from all angles, including combo block, or even tripling. A couple crack and wham blocks out of nowhere and he would have turtled.

BB doesn't just scheme to take out the best receiver on the other team, he also schemes to take out the best defensive player on the line.

Remember how Aaron Donald turtled in the SB when we played them. He just didn't know who was going to block him, how many, and from where, and it kept him off balance and made him cautious.

This is a perfect (and probably best known) example of the psychology of not knowing where the block is coming from. That's often far more effective. Suggs disappeared for the rest of the game.

Everybody in the NFL plays hurt if they can.
