Cam Newton Tests Positive; Out for KC game

Can Cam still play if it's Tuesday night football? I would imagine that's too soon...

Doesn't he now have the quarantine for two weeks? If that's the case he could miss two or three games.

Practice squad QB on Chiefs tests positive

Goodell went about it the wrong way. It would take a major outbreak for the season to be cancelled. Goodell needs to put the bubble in place. Also what happens if none of our other players test positive and it’s only cam?

If it is only Cam and it is learned that he went out and was irresponsible then Bill probably cuts him.

BB to Ernie “make sure that test comes back positive. I’ll get him signed to long term contract next week”

(sarcasm)

When they going to play

Is the staff tested every day of just the players??? He could have picked it up from a gas pump or door handle or a myriad of other ways through no fault of his own. There is lots of this that we don't know re transmission and testing is unreliable and he could test negative tomorrow.... We dont know if he is patient zero and if reports are true that his family is home in NC and he is the first in and last one out, there is th epossibility that someone in the facility was patient zero and he just happens to be player zero .
...

Staff is tested every day before they even enter the building. It’s done in the parking lot.

Yes, don’t go out for months. Got it. Because that’s totally a normal thing to do.
Nothing guarantees anyone a "normal" life.
It’s already too risky to play the game this week. Say someone got it from Newton yesterday. That person may not test positive until Wednesday.
The stuff in the TEN thread from NYT suggests it's three days where a person is asymptomatic yet is a carrier/spreader and seven days till the test can detect the disease. Therefore Cam could have had the stuff as far back as last Saturday and only felt some symptoms on Tue and then tested positive on Saturday.

Personally, I hope Cam is OK and he recovers quickly. Much more important than how did he get it.
Cam has been a great guy since he first got to New England. Took next to nothing for pay and has been a likable and greta leader so far.

Wish him the best.

Or a cook brought it into the facility. Or a janitor, or a coach, or a member of the media, or another player who hasn't tested positive yet, or or or.

All we do know is that Cam tested positive. That's it. I'd wait for the facts to come out before jumping to conclusions.

Every person in the facility is tested every day.

They're not allowed in the building without being tested.

So when will the other players be tested?

In hospitals it has been found in the air 14 feet from the infected patient. The larger the amount of germs you get the worse you get it it seems. If someone with it coughs straight in your face you get a worse case than if you get a few being 6, 10, 14 feet away. It takes time for your body to build a defense so that would explain why this happens. get a small load and your body has a better chance of overcoming. Everyone, make sure you are taking vitamin D. I had predicted the NFL season would last 4 weeks and I think I may have been right. The players are young and strong and the chance of any one of them dying or having serious after affects are low but it dramatically changes as you get older. The death rate for age 50 - 70 is around 1 in 200 but for 70+ it is 1 -20 or greater. They healthier young infected spread it to others. Look at that Maine super spreading wedding, 62 people went, they have tracked 170 cases that came as a result and 8 deaths and non of those 8 were at the wedding.
