OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

...I loved Johnson for a minute but was a little nervous bc Tom and the depth there. I still think he's quite the player. He just missed a 2nd round grade for me...

Might get a bit more of a look at him this week

The reasons have been stated repeatedly. You can disagree with them if you like, but it's ridiculous to assert you can't imagine why someone would object to discussing players who are not New England Patriots in a New England Patriots forum.
Those people sound like ******s. Maybe they should use the ignore thread option.

It's one thing to object but we're 100 pages in. No one cares. Certainly not the mods.

If I have no interest in a thread I won't post and will just keep it moving. Not that hard unless some just want to *****/moan. We're going to be talking about Brady as long as there's football being played.

The poster doesn't like us having a thread about Tom and Gronk in this location, so he starts posting unrelated posts (the TB cheerleaders were ok though) and after a few back and forth posts uses those as the reason to have it moved. There must be a word for that brand of dishonesty.

This thread began discussing players on the Bucs not named Tom or Gronk long before that poster made a few tongue-in-cheek posts.

And actually, your first sentence isn't really right. His issue isn't having a thread about Tom and Gronk, quite the contrary; his issue is having a thread (in the Patriots-specific subforum) discussing Bucs players not named Tom or Gronk.

Silly me for thinking an adult would or could have deductive reasoning to see the thread title and know the only reason there'd be a thread like this on the board would be specifically because Tom Brady is there. But it's you, so I see my expectations were set too high.

There are no such thing as adults. Just overgrown children that think they aren't overgrown children.

That's quite the pack of butterfaces.

Ian has ruled on this subject. It’s disrespectful for a few clowns to continue to belabor the same exact points.

We get it. You don’t like this thread here. Your arguments were all heard and rejected.

I‘d be in favor of thread banning members who don’t belong in this thread but only want to be here to stomp around and cry about how they don’t like its existence.

If you want to discuss Brady, that’s fair game. I don’t like @sb1 ’s opinions but at least they are relevant to the thread. Likewise, if any of of you Thread Protestors want to add criticism or actual discussion, go right ahead. But the thread is being allowed on the main thread, per Ian’s (correct) decision, so move the **** on.

I hope so. Could be that big slot that Godwin played even though Johnson is like 6'1/210. They should be fired up this weekend even though it's the Chargers. You know Brady wants that team to hit certain levels during throughout the year.

Godwin is out. Evans is a huge WR. Haven't really seen Howard or Brates be used much as pass catchers. This entire Tampa offense is still in flux. Plus their LT is gone for the year. Brady's bread and butter is short passes to the middle and slot. coach's scheme is deep vertical offense. Brady can throw deep but he isn't really a cannon arm QB at age 43...

.

@BaconGrundleCandy Could Wirfs and Smith just swap LT and RT positions? Seems like Wirfs is the better tackle, but I’m sure there’s a lot more to it.

I can name maybe 100 players who were not Patriots who were discussed on this forum through the years. Whether they be Peyton Manning, Leveon Bell, Darelle Revis, or heck Antonio Brown all last year. It happens regularly. But only for Tom Brady is there suddenly an objection. They should take your advice.

I think so. I wonder in a regular off season with more time if he wouldn't see extended reps there. Everyone lost hundreds of reps so it may be in the cards in the future. Plus that could be a dominate left side with Marpet.

The difference between RT/LT is a lot smaller today. LT is still harder imo but there's athletes/rushers everywhere today.

I'm glad @PatsBoy12 started this thread. Extremely curious how the GOAT does in his quest to play football until 45 yo. Every Sunday he's breaking another record just by showing up. No matter what happens this year or next, the GOAT will always be known as the Patriots QB that led them to 9 SBs and 6 victories in 20 years. Whenever anyone talks about the 2000-2019 Patriots, it will be the GOAT that is mentioned first and foremost. Nothing will change that.

Given the interest of some of us "Patriot fans" in how the GOAT does in his few remaining years until he retires; it is only obvious that the team he is playing for is brought up, since for example, the OL is important to his success, his WRs are important to his success, etc. Not one of the Patriot fans that like posting on this thread have attempted to:

1. Compare TB12 to Slam Newton;
2. Theorize on what could've been had TB12 stayed in NE;
3. Make any sort of TB12 vs. BB argument;
4. Make even a hint that Patriots would be better off with TB12 instead of Cam.

People trolling this thread have tried all of the above arguments. The people enjoying this thread are comfortable acknowledging two simple facts:

1. TB12 is no longer with the Patriots; it is what it is, and we want the Patriots to succeed; and
2. TB12 is playing for the Bucs, and we want him to succeed.

For those of you that don't get this, coman mierda.

And likewise, I think it's equally ridiculous to keep seeing those same objections on almost every page by the same posters 94 pages in. Isn't it clear where the mods stand on this by now? Isn't it equally clear where other posters stand on it? Get over the fact that there are posters on the board still very interested in following Brady's career and the mods think enough of the subject matter to allow it on the main board. At this point let's just super simplify it... stay if you're interested, leave and stay gone if you're not. Done.

No, it didn't. That's just what you all are trying to say now because all other arguments have failed. The thread title is clear. I posted what information I could find at the time during the dead spot of the off season. The roster and some of the other stuff I felt were relevant because they impact Brady obviously; Brady and Gronk are both part of the 53 last I checked. As more information specific to Brady became obtainable, I posted it and continue to do so. As information not specifically about Brady but still relevant to him, like one of his primary offensive weapons missing time for example, becomes available, I'll post it as well. Does the overall record not have something to do with Brady and Gronk? As for other things, I cannot control if other people post other sorts of things about the Bucs.

Anyone who fails or is simply refusing to use deductive reasoning as to the fact that this thread exists because of Brady regardless of what is specifically in the OP, well, that's your dysfunction, not mine or the thread's. The mods saw the OP and decided to allow it. What does that tell you about its validity?
