He's not even pretending to root for the Pats anymore; he's out of the closet as a full blown troll.

He was one of those posters who promised to leave once Brady left...unfortunately he's still here...

At least when Tampa plays KC everyone in the forum will be rooting for Tom at least for that game ;)

Without the 8 drops (or whatever the number is "officially" called, that's a blowout Bucs win, with Brady putting up the kind of numbers that makes him a strong candidate for player of the week.

On the other side, without Carroll going vapor lock on third down, the Patriots likely lost by double digits, and all the "OMG! CAM!" type stuff is absent from the forum, and "The Patriots can't play with the good teams" is what's being said and heard all week long.

And there we see 2 examples of things out of control of the "protagonists" that impact the appearance of how games went.

But those things didn't happen that way.

But sure, if Brady was still a Patriot they'd most likely be no better than what they are now and maybe even 0-2. And coming off a truck stomping in Seattle on their way to a playoff miss. The if coulda woulda shoulda game is fun!

Is this a Brady Thread or a Gronk thread? Maybe it is a Tampa Bay thread?

One thing I have noticed is Tom is getting a lot of PI calls. Part of this is because his receivers are so good but I also think it is because there is no Pats bias on the part of the refs. Also, Carolina came out flat, not ready to play at all. I think this is in part due to the fact that Tampa has no winning pedigree unlike the Pats so Tom will not get teams A games as no one cares about beating Tampa as a measuring stick. I do think teams probably want to beat Tom but it is defninitely not the same as it was when he was a Pat. Both of things should help him continue to succeed down there.

One more thought. The NFC has shaped up nicely for Tampa to make a legit run. Carolina and Atlanta are garbage and the Saints have a QB that father time has caught up with dramatically. In addition, San Fran is ravaged with injuries and as good as Seattle's offense is their defense is equally as bad. Tom has a great chance to nab one of the top seeds and set the team up for a deep playoff run.

He wanted to go to New Orleans but because Brees decided to play one more year he had offers only from LAC or TB. It's only been 2 games, but so far, Brees' is QB Rating is significantly higher than Brady's. However, they both look shot to me TBH.

The NFC has Rodgers, Wilson, Ryan, Murray, while the AFC has Mahomes, Watson, and Jackson. I call that about even. Of his two choices, LAC or TB, TB made more sense because it's closer to Brazil and no Mahomes.

Brady also has the 30th ranked QBR out of 34 quarterbacks through week 2. That's not very good.

I think the Chiefs roll in that game. Glad to be wrong though.

This is exactly why I wanted him to retire. Going to Tampa, short of winning a super bowl, detracts from his stellar career in NE.

He's getting a lot of PI calls because he's going long and his receivers have the speed and skill to adjust to the ball and make it look like Brady's ball is perfectly thrown. But then again, I have always been biased toward the idea that it's a receivers job to track down a ball, and not the QBs to throw it in a 1 foot window 40 yards downfield.

I've watched QBs enough (in practice with no rushers, no pads) to know that QBs can't actually do that.

You're absolutely right though that the Bucs are getting a ton of DPI calls against the opposition.

Another thing that should be noticed: through 2 games Brady hasn't thrown the ball away even once (except when he grounded it when he was already in the grasp, but that doesn't count as a throwaway). Personally, I like it when a QB throws the ball away. I despair when a QB has to throw the ball away a lot because the line can't block for him for more than 1 1/2 seconds.

And that, friends, is the UNDERLINE to everything we watched last year. Let me end with two words: Marshall Newhouse.

Those were the days. I had the same problem in the mid 80s so I'd take the train down from Boston and wait for the 1st quarter to start and just get practically free tix to go to the game. The train down cost $3 or 4 RT.
Yah, games were often blacked out. I'd be out working in my yard and especially if the weather was nice I'd drive to Foxboro and after parking for free across Route 1, I'd buy great tix in the parking lot for the game.

Not a bad prediction as they are a solid team but Brees cannot throw anymore. His arm looks completely shot. I was over on their forum and diehard Brees fans want him replaced by Hill or Winston. It's amazing that Brady is 2 years older than him and can still sling it.

Edit: weird... the Bleacher report link paste turned up blank in the post. Used a shortener and it works fine
