History does bode well for us Pats fans in that BB's teams typically get better as the season goes on. I think we have the horses on our OL to be dominant. And with Cam's threat to run, pass rushers have to keep their lanes which works in the OL's benefit.

Separately, people are kinda down on our defense and it's understandable when you look at the yardage and score they gave up. But the way i look at it, those two TD passes to Moore and Metcalf were elite plays by both the QB and WR. That's not gonna happen a lot this season against this secondary. I think our young guys in our front seven are only going to get better with more experience. I saw Bentley over commit a few times leading to some holes. I think that's a teachable error. Allen should help with a bigger body in the middle and Uche's athleticism can only help (if training camp play indications are to be true).

Also looking forward to Gunner out there on the outside. From what we read, he provided speed and quickness on the outside. Harris coming back is gonna give our RB corps a boost as well.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of Patriot fans out there, but i'm looking forward to see how all this develops.

I'm not a Josh hater but I thought he was not very good last night. Especially failing to adjust as the game went on. This offense needs to be designed around drop back passing with intermediate routes because that is where Cam shines. If they play man, Cam can run and do damage. If zone, that is when Edelman and our receivers are at their best. Designed runs for Cam other than short yardage is just going to wear his body down, possibly get him hurt, and make them way too predicable. Make them defend the whole field!

In an ideal world where you sign a new QB in March and he has the entire time to catch up on the offense, OTAs and private throw sessions all through Spring and can hit the ground running when camp starts this would be maybe valid criticism. With how Newton signed on June 28th and how limited camp was (no joint practices, no preseason games) I think you gotta cut them some slack by putting the offense together slowly and patiently.

If the offense is still similarly limited in week 15 it is an entirely different discussion. But for now they seem to be on an impressive course given the cluster**** they were dealt with COVID.

Cam explained he named Harry this nickname based on the pillsbury dough boy. Doesn't seem like a great sign.
Cam said it was all about off the field stuff, and 'absolutely not' about 'softness':

It'd be nice if people were taking in the whole quote rather than just the nickname:

Yes but in what world is being nicknamed after the pillsbury doughboy a good thing.

So we're now gonna pick on Cam for his choice of nicknames?

It's a term of endearment, watch the video.

For all we know, Harry likes baking stuff.

It's clear Cam likes the guy, wants him to become the 'best version of himself'.

Great to see Cam being a leader and a mentor.

Yea no doubt Cam is being a great leader and trying to build up his teammates.

Harry had a couple nice catches. Hope he learns how to use his 6'4 frame and not fall down now whenever a finger touches him.

Little bit of Laurence Maroney in him. Gotta coach that outta him. He’s gotta be able to run stronger.

So, this is falling down whenever a finger touches him?

Maybe we should follow Cam's example and try to build him up instead of knock him down.
I love how we now have a Boo Hoo Harry Crew here now:rofl::rofl:
It's pathetic that we need one.

It's kinda sick to see how people get off by overly criticizing our own players.

Harry held the ball while taking that massive illegal hit and went on to make big plays in the rest of the game including the final drive.

If you think he's soft after watching that play and that game, that's on you.

Say what you will about nicknames and such, but that hit Harry took to make that catch and bounce right back up... respect. I hope he continues to grow, but he's a tough son of a b****

I mean he’s a big dude but he isn’t trucking people like he should.
Give it time. There's room for growth. He's already a starting caliber WR and the QB is doing what he can to help him get better.

It was a NFC game. We were not going to be 16-0, so losing to an NFC team is better than losing to an AFC team. In 2 weeks we play against the Chiefs and that game is key for seeding. I think there is only 1 bye team in the playoff format this year, and with no fans, HFA is not as important. Beating the Bills will be important.
Right, we weren’t going to go 16-0. And in a vacuum, a loss to an nfc team is better than that to an afc team. But losing this game doesn’t make it less likely that we lose to the chiefs, ravens, bills, etc. so I don’t really follow. We could go something like 11-4 in the rest of our games and then either win or lose the Seahawks game, leading to the difference between 12-4 and 11-5.
We just lost a game, which puts us back a game in the standings. It doesn’t need to be exclusively against teams we’re competing against. Of course, those games are just even more impactful.
And there are enough teams in the afc I think we’ll be battling for seeding that a loss hurts in general.
I agree, the bills games will be especially important.

The Bills have a very tough schedule themselves. They have Pit and Tennessee and they're also playing the AFC West and NFC West including the Seahawks.
