We need to take the homer glasses off. BB ran up the score against the Skins - there are no ifs, ands or butts about it. Anyone who says otherwise is just dishonest - period. To borrow from college football, the skins game reminded me of the Houston days when they had Klingler and Ware, and the Florida days when Spurrier was there. The Houston coach and Spurrier were roundly criticized (people still hold a grudge against Spurrier), so pats fans should expect some flak.
BB should simply tone it down. If the pats are up by 30 in the 4th, run the ball - period. There is less than 1% chance that Brady or the WRs will get hurt if you just run. If the opposing team starts calling timeouts and throwing bombs, I have no issue with opening it up a little, but when it is clear that the opponent has mailed it in, BB should call the dogs off. College basketball coaches have no qualms about telling a player to "take the other guy out" if the team is running it up. I'm assuming pro coaches and rabid d-coordinators have no qualms about the doing the same.
Sportsmanship exists in pee wee, H.S. football, college, and yes, the Pros. Retribution also occurs in pee wee, H.S. football, college, and yes, the Pros. BB should call the dogs off a little earlier out of sportsmanship and to avoid retribution. I wouldn't worry about the colts, but celler dweller teams have nothing to lose...
