It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The NFL has taken away 19 draft picks away from teams since 1980. 5 of those 19 picks (26%) were from the Patriots. No team other then the Patriots have lost a 1st round pick (we lost 2)
First round draft pick (spygate)
First round draft pick (deflate gate)
Third round draft pick (injury report fibbing)
Third round draft pick (tv crew filming)
Fourth round Draft pick (deflate gate)
Now compare a team like the Broncos who were caught paying both Terrel Davis and John Elway millions under the table to circumvent the salary cap and win back to back superbowls and their punishment??.... A 2nd round pick
NFL has it out for the Pats
As per Schefter:
$1.1 million in club fines.
Loss of 2021 third-round pick.
Patriots’ TV crews not allowed to shoot games during 2020 season.
A very slow day just got very busy!!!
Kangaroo Court strikes again.
The 3rd rounder is ridiculous but if the Bengals were as angry as they are reportedly were- and some other teams were too- then the league wasn’t going to do nothing. The other stuff are Kraft penalties. This is basically an admission the investigation concurred with the Pats side of the story. If it didn’t we would need a new coach and lose a lot more than this. This is not cheating and the NFL agreed.
Pretty stupid thing to point a camera anyway at the sidelines with their history. Hopefully they learned their lesson.
I am so beyond ****ing tired of this. A third round pick?
9 month investigation and what are the results that warrant the theft of more picks?
“staffers?” No. These weren’t staffers. They were contractors with no relationship to the football operations. F the NFLView attachment 27608
This dogsh*t post on Rotoworld demonstrates the biggest problem with the penalty. This is exactly how it is going to be spun nationally. Even though BB likely had zero to do with it, it will be used by the haters to tarnish his legacy and tarnish the Pats dynasty. Nice job, Bobby.
The NFL needs to make it clear in their statement that football operations had nothing to do with it...but they probably won't.
The penalty itself can not be surprising to anyone on this board.
While its true that the film gave no competitive advantage whatsoever
BB admitted they they broke a rule AND
they had previous infraction(s).
They were not going to get away scot free.
The third rounder stings however, especially if its a high third rounder.
This one is on Kraft and Bill. It was mistake that never should have happened.
always the revisionist history buffs with their capitulation speeches ready to roll. BB had ZERO....NOTHING to do with this travesty. Get educated completely on a subject matter before you make these proclamationsThe penalty itself can not be surprising to anyone on this board.

So, basically, the Pats need to get everything right 100% of the time even when a supposed infraction wasn't by the football ops part of their organization. No wiggle room for honest mistakes. Good to know.
