I'm extremely grateful that I got to see the team I chose to follow reach the mouintaintop while the sport was still recognizable. I would prefer otherwise, but if the NFL wants to burn, I can live with it now. Let them burn.

The farce of it all is that NFL claims that they are making these changes to improve the safety of the game for the players.

Watch any post season game and witness the hits to the head and much worse. Rarely is a flag drawn because the NFL doesnt want to ruin the product on the field. BB himself stated that the Refs keep their whistles in their pockets during the post season and that remains mostly true even in the era of the NFL trying to cover themselves from liability for brain injuries.

If this abomination passes, then Park Avenue might as well change the company name to the Funny-Looking Ball League...

Why reward a team with a better chance to tie/win the game when they played like sheet for almost 4 quarters?

All lives do matter. Not sure what some idiot kneeling has to do with some idiot police being idiots. But where is the outrage of the 10 people murdered in Chicago over Memorial Day not to mention the 49 shot.
In the morning (typically) I get a coffee at McDonalds. One morning an individual was ranting about the "N" Kneeling for the anthem. There are some that don't get it (cops, McDonald's regulars, others). I am not going to debate it. I thought the signature was awesome. Not sure what the Chicago reference has to do with Kneeling (I will not reply).

I diddnt think it was awesome. I thought it made no sense. I understand why YOU dont get the Chicago reference though, particularly since you think that sig is awesome. Totally understandable.

What exactly does #8 mean? You can't tackle the Returner unless he tells you he's ready to be tackled first?

You can't light up the idiot who didn't call fair catch on a ball where he's going to get crushed. Now, he doesn't have to call for it, and you can't drill him the way you could before.

Yes, you need to stop, bow, and kindly ask permission to make a tackle.

My take.

The defense times a savage hit seconds after the returner catches the ball. He gets lit up. That is legal assuming the returner did not signal for a fair catch.

The returner did not have time to avoid contact since he was focused on first possessing the ball.

Rule change declined for now. Good.

The onside kick isn't some exception that requires special rules. It's just a kick off where you hope for a muff, yes? Having a weird new modality in the rules just for this one type of play doesn't make sense to me.

Did Tompa toss any 15 air yard passes last year?

All I seem to remember is:
“Brady screen pass to White 3 yds behind LOS. White bursts thru defensive Line, 360 past 2 LBs, jukes the strong safety. 18 yds. 1st down.
What a play by Brady!!!!!“

I remember (a long time ago) a Tampa player that never signaled for a fair catch. Honestly, that was exciting. I don't remember him ever fumbling either.

I thought that's why they had fair catch rules

How many injuries really occur on kick-offs?

Given:

(Total Injuries) - (No-Contact Injuries) - (Injuries Already Covered by a Rule) = Actual Injuries That Need to be Addressed
