So Brady was chapped with McDaniels?

Hopefully Josh feels more liberated now and will game plan some 3 and 4 yd passes.....now that Tompa has taken his screen pass game to Pirates Cove

100% Love 6 SBs. If the relationships deteriorated, so be it. Many alphas coexisting so long is amazing. To me, it’s a wonder BB-Josh-Brady made it work so many seasons.

I can’t be in the minority in thinking the FEB 2021 Super Bowl was out of reach whether they had Brady or not. Brady defied time so long it boggles the mind.

Always take the winning. If it makes for a few hard feelings, no worries. Winning > everything.
Such a great post and so true. I mean 20 years - 6 SBs. I will take it every time. Credit to everyone for keeping it going until Brady was age 42 and getting every last win out of it.

I think these "stories" keep coming up because people so badly wanted things to end badly and they didn't. It just ended at the end of an historical 20 year run. Everyone went their own ways and everyone moved on. But the media hates that. They wanted a Jordan ending and didn't get it. Too bad.

It was time to move on.

Brady wanted his best chance to win a championship and play with superstar weapons. The Pats couldn't afford that.

The Pats wanted to clear his cap hit off the books and start again before Stidham completely exhausted his rookie contract.

It was a win/win for both sides, it wasn't acrimonious at all. Tom went over Kraft's house, they conference called Bill and had a good cry.

All the soap opera garbage since, including this, has been clickbait.

I love Brady, Like Todd Bradley says above, my favorite athlete ever, in any sport. But he's made his choice not to be with the Patriots anymore. Doesn't matter why he's left. I've been in enough failed relationships to know that harping on the why doesn't matter in the slightest. Like those relationships, time to move on.

anyone who tries to trademark something as ridiculously stupid as "Tompa Bay" is likely the cause of any problem

I think all of these theories about why Brady left stem from his difficulty accepting that he really was "just a player"... He wanted to do more: maybe call his own plays, be involved in personnel selection, get into scheme design. This isn't too surprising after 20 years in system. We hear he didn't want to be under BB's thumb, had issues with JMcD etc. These difficulties were pushing him out while Tampa was giving him the keys to the kingdom. Someone last year likely told him to "shut up and play - you're not management" and that prompted the whole "I'm just an employee" whine. The relationship played out...

Baseless speculation. Yay.
I do remember reading that TB was no longer included in the game planning last year, I was quit surprised. I know he use to have input.

Nobody seems to ever talk about how McDaniels was the one who told BB to draft David Thomas, Garrett Mills, Chad Jackson, and Laurence Maroney. It's just never brought up.
Never heard this. What is the scoop?

Never heard this. What is the scoop?

It's just something a certain poster said a million times in the past week and I thought it would be funny to turn it into a Patsfans meme. There is no evidence behind the statement because it's almost definitely ********.

On reading this, it's hard to know who was worn out by whom? And also hard to know what constituted the "deteriorating rel." apart from Tom's apparent desire to have more control over play-calling. In any case, more words devoted here to their love fest than to their clashing.
My understanding is the main reason Josh was kept here was due to his fantastic relationship with Brady.

I've been working for my boss for 8 years now, and we're pretty different people. Different political ideologies, different work styles, different temperments, etc. We always (well, ALMOST always) get the job done in the end, and have settled into a nice working relationship. If you asked his boss, or his boss' boss, they'd probably say we're doing well, and make a good team. But if you asked my girlfriend to make an anonymous statement about it, she'd probably tell you I'm sick of his bulls**t.

That's the thing with these reports. If you work with someone long enough, the cracks are gonna show. There's no reason to think that Brady and Josh have just been in prefect harmony this whole time, even during the best and most successful years. But just because you can get one person to say, without a name attached, that they didn't get along in the end, doesn't mean you've uncovered anything more than normal human nature.

I would be surprised if every player and coach in the league had similar feelings at times. It's just bigger news here because the player and team are larger than life.

Brady was not allowed to deal with many of the sorts of problems he'd dealt with in the past, per earlier reports (remember the reports about him having to turn to the sidelines in order to get someone to deal with wayward receivers in camp?). We also had these types of news dribbles around Brady saying that he was just an employee.

So it's not really surprising that there was less of a closeness last year. How much, and to what effect, is where the questions need to be addressed.
Why at this point do they need to address any questions? Brady will not be back and the circumstances are so unique that the fact pattern will not play out again

Anyone else think their might of been tampering by the Bucs thru maybe his agent.
Bradys attitude sucked all season I said it before he was mentally checked out.

Nah. I think he signed with the Bucs because that the only opportunity he had. IMO, there was not a strong market for a 43 year old QB.

They hate their Offensive Coordinator.

I don’t believe anyone is a victim of their emotions. Our intellect controls our emotions.

You're really enamored with that picture. Be honest, how many times have you... you know... while looking at the pic?

It was time to part ways.

Brady got the hint when he wasn’t extended last summer.

And Brady wasn’t going to return to a team like it currently is.

"He was wide open, Tommy".......I remember this from 1-2 years ago.

It wasn't a BOB-level confrontation....but had to rub Brady the wrong way.

There is no way Brady would have been able to survive 20 years with BB and his weekly lowlight sessions if stuff that was said in the heat of the game would rub him the wrong way in any lasting fashion.

Did it trigger him at the time it happened ? Most probably. Were they past it a drive later ? Even more likely.

The reason this is somehow talked about is just because it is one of the rare occasions where a moment like that was captured live. Honestly this and his argument with BoB are just blown way out of proportion.
