Oops, better get that tattoo erased! People are already jumping to conclusions cos of one tatt he probably got while drunk and pressured by friends.

Christ almighty, it never ends, the guy gave an explanation lets take him at his word.

I'm going to reserve judgement on this firestorm until I get the official Joy Behar take on the View, Monday. Wanna make sure I'm truly informed on this staggeringly important issue...

.....um, so, any info on how this guy is as a kicker?

If that is off topic my apologies ;)

The irony.

It is not just the tattoo though according to Rich Hill.

You can give him the benefit of doubt about the tattoo, whatever. But it looks like he seemingly is hanging out around the fringe of white supremacy in social media as well.

Whatever, clean slate upon entering the locker room it is. But given the baggage he will be under a microscope.

I am sure Loyko liked that pick though..

Take the kids word for it, as so far there is no other excess baggage to report, when you play college sports difficult to be intolerant due to the preponderance of many different types of players.... his supposed "intolerance" would probably not have gone unnoticed.

Were there any incidents are Marshall or URI?? Pretty sure there are "reporters" dispatched to see what Rohrwasser was really up to while there.. woops there is no one on campus, so this will be a challenging task.

Ahh politics and football. Most of us would hate each other in person, but football bonds us together. Politics wise, I remember hating Nazis was an agreed upon thing by ALL Americans, 80 years later, not so much. Not many Nazis running around where I live in NYC, they’d get a punch in the mouth and run away screaming in fear. Most bullies do that.

I remember this street comedian back in the 1980s, Charlie Barnett (RIP). He said, you never see the KKK in NYC, but I wish they did come, we could sure use the sheets. I found it funny, but truthful.

The difference between the KKK and Nazis ans the three percenters or whatever is the latter are basically just a group of shut-in weirdos who do nothing but post on social media.

Are they linked to some white power nonsense or are they just really worried someone is going to decide to begin seizing all of the 400M registered guns in the country?

Be a right wing nut job, that’s your politics. Hope he isn’t racist, also stay away from jersey #14 or #88

They're nothing, just a like Facebook phenomenon. A bunch of sad fat old dudes on social media talking a big game about their guns. They're not a militia group, they're LARPers. That said, I don't believe the kid's story that he didn't know what the symbol meant, I also think kids do stupid things and tattoos are forever so whatever. He's a kicker.

I more just think it's funny that the people who claimed Colin Kaepernick can't be signed by anyone because he'd be a distraction are defending this kid to the death when he's just some rookie kicker.

All the political talk aside, I didn’t see him rated as even a top 3 K in probably 6-7 sites. Why burn a 5th on him when he could’ve been easily an UDFA (like the better-known, better-pedigree Blankenship). If you feel that strongly...then wait and use the 7th.

Not saying he’s the wrong K choice, but it’s a bad use of the asset by BB.

He was in touch with 12 NFL teams and won the combine as the best specialist.

I mean...it’s the combine, and they could’ve easily been establishing contact w/UDFA in mind.

I’m not gonna get that fired up about it. You have to wonder if he’s really that much better than the other prospects that you really had to jump that early. Doubt it. Rather he take a chance elsewhere, but clearly he must’ve loved this dude, so we’ll see.

Good chance he'll miss two kicks and be gone by week 3 or lose the competition to a camp free agent. Whatever. Draft capital use would bother me more if the 5th-7th rounds weren't basically a crapshoot that produce only a handful of contributors in over a hundred picks each year.

Feel like K is so tough to tell since so much is mental. That’s why I’d rather shoot the craps at a different position and take my (albeit low) chances elsewhere.

Of course, you’re not jumping to conclusions with your scenario.

People are who they are. All you have to do is see who the kid tweets, retweets, and tweet likes, to see who he is, and that evidence was provided in various twitter posts. This was no drunken accident.

Yes and no.

The amount of draft capital a team has is relative to the perceived value of players on the board and other teams who may want them..

We all know the NEP evaluate players a bit differently than other teams.

However there are a number of teams which are very similar in how they evaluate talent. DET, MIA, NYG, TN and HOU being some.

BUF drafted a K. Do you think Bill might know they also scouted/liked Rohrwasser?
Jets also had kicker issues last year.

Yeah, there are a lot of college kickers with more or less the same leg who can nail 65 yarders in practice all day long, which is how Steve Hauschka makes it from Middlebury or Adam Vinatieri from South Dakota State while Florida State guys who won the Groza award wash out. Rosas came from an NAIA team, Zuerlein from D2. A lot of these schools just take kids off their soccer teams and they end up being better than the kids the big schools recruit as kickers.

It's like pro golf, there's some slight variation in skill level among the best guys but mostly it comes down to consistency and coolness under pressure.

My guess is this guy was projected based off hitting tough, high-pressure situational kicks in bad weather, but there's a big difference going from URI and Marshall to Foxboro and we'll see how it translates.

Just want to point out that just because we drafted him doesn’t mean you have to blindly defend him

So... what you guys are saying is that, if he misses, it will be wide right?

I thought it was odd to say the least to draft this kid (of all kickers) in the 5th round (of all rounds). But he appears to be pretty good, has experience kicking in bad weather conditions, and has ice in his veins. Maybe he won't even make the team. But if three years from now this guy is still the kicker performing at a high level, we won't care at all that he was picked in the 5th round - we'll just be glad he's on the team.

Classic Belichick pickup, honestly.

What’s funny is that BB either didn’t scout this kid thoroughly (which I guess would explain some of the recent drafts), or he did and just didn’t give a damn about the region’s reaction.
